Light Duty Shocks

It's a good shock for the money. I have a S-10 I use for everday driving, and shocks do well for the type of driving I do.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:

Installation with these was a breeze. Paint quality was good, shocks feel much better than the old worn factory shocks. The shocks come with all the hardware you need, four rubber bushings, two nuts and 4 washers. Monroe is a brand I've installed before and choose to buy this brand over others because of the quality I've seen with other vehicles I've installed this brand on before. Good warranty and have been treated well at several of the advance auto parts locations here in the Orlando area.

I put these on my Dodge Ram 4x4 and my son's GMC Sonoma as replacements for the OEMs. They perform better than the OEMs on both vehicles as far as handling and ride. For the price, I wasn't looking for extreme performance, but I was impressed with what I got.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:

I recently purchased a well worn 2001 S10 as an extra vehicle for the family to borrow. While checking the front suspension, I noticed that it looked like the original shocks were still on it. After 160,000 miles, I figured it was well past time to replace them. Glad I did. Because of the age and PA winter road salt, the old bolts had to be ground off with a grinder. My local Advance salesman helped me with new replacement ones that worked perfectly. The truck has to be safer and I'll feel better lending it to my sons for their home projects.

2 weeks on 94 s10. Truck has 3" lowering springs on front and the factory shocks were pretty poor. The Monroes fit perfect even being lowered and improved the ride a lot. For the money cant get better.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Matic LT Shock Absorber:

Shocks were an exact fit. Good buy for the $. However, one shock was missing a rubber bushing (only came with one). Each shock takes two. Had to reuse an old worn bushing. My advice, open the boxes & hardware bags before leaving the store and make sure it's all there.

These are a good replacement for worn out stock shocks. They went on really easily. I have about 500 miles on them so for with no issues.

I'm happy to help, Case! I have spoken to Monroe and they are not able to provide specific damping capabilities by part number. In general their parts will be in the range of 60/40 or 70/30 and have more resistance on compression rather than extension.

Shocks will not lower a vehicle. Lowering springs will be needed to lower the vehicle. If these are used with a 3 inch drop they may bottom out when you go over bumps.
