The Monroe® Gas-Magnum® truck shock absorber is designed for mid to full size, hard working pick-up trucks and vans. These units provide firm control without a harsh ride. With up to twice the fluid capacity of standard 1 inch bore shocks, Monroe® Gas-Magnum® truck shocks work more efficiently with less effort.

Product Features:
  • 1-3/8 inch Bore: Lower operating pressure than standard 1 inch bore units
  • 2 inch Reserve Tube: More fluid for more consistent performance.
  • 5/8 inch Piston Rod: Heavy-duty nitrocarburized rod for long service life. On non-dust shield units only
  • All Weather Fluid: Contains special modifiers to reduce friction and ensure smooth rod reaction.
  • Full Displaced Valving: Better valving range on both the compression and extension cycles of the unit for a smooth comfortable ride.
  • Nitrogen Gas Charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications
  • Sintered Iron Piston: Stronger than traditional metals, enhances durability for longer service life.

Comments about Monroe Gas-Magnum Shock Absorber:

didn't check the original shocks before I changed them, but with a hundred and twenty thousand miles on them and under a diesel engine I figured it was about time.. they were still sealed and working about half, and with a gas engine over them I probably would not have changed them..the heavy duty feature and bigger tubes of the gas magnums gave a much better feel on our wonderfull pot holed roads in Pennsylvania. they fit right in place and remember DO NOT snip the retaining nylon strip until you have the old ones off and the new ones in place

Part worked great and install was a breeze...There were burrs or slag from the welding on the shock body that will cut ya if your not careful but overall good product for the money

Grat shocks, would be better with high quality stickers on all shocks, not just some, and to have the metal inserts....not all trucks are the same. I'm running dual fronts, and had to rob from the old shocks for the metal inserts.
