Melling oil pumps provide dependable performance every time in every application. Every pump is engineered, manufactured and assembled to the highest material and production standards. Manufacturing processes include state of the art CNC machines and the latest phosphate coating processes. Melling oil pumps are manufactured from high quality materials in either cast iron or cast aluminum as specified by the OEM engine manufacturer. Internal pump parts are produced from sintered metal or steel. Gears are machined to close tolerances to ensure proper engine pressure and correct, efficient pump operation. End plates are precision ground for maximum ware resistance. Depending on application and design, Melling pumps may use gear, impeller or the latest gerotor technology. When completed every Melling oil pump is individually tested for pressure and flow under conditions designed to duplicate actual engine operating conditions. In addition to OEM pump applications, Melling Select pumps are offered for increased oil flow, increased oil pressure, anti-cavitation capability, lighter pump weight and performance when needed. Depending on your oil pump requirements Melling Select pumps are offered in cast iron, cast aluminum or aluminum billet materials. Each Melling Select pump performance level offers a step up in material selection, engineering advantages and increased durability. All Melling Select pumps designed to provide the highest level of quality and performance with a reasonable level of investment.

Comments about Melling Stock Replacement Oil Pump:

I just put this melling pump on my 5.4 and it never build up pressure . I took it off to find a 3 inch crack on front of housing. It ruined my rebuilt heads and caused me a lot of work. It should have a warning on it because I researched it and melling had design problems but never pull the bad castings off the shelfes.

        A:

An oil pressure warning light (or low gauge reading) means one of two things: either your engine has dangerously low oil pressure, or the oil pressure sending unit that triggers the warning light (or operates your gauge) has failed. It seems the oil pump has failed in your vehicle and needs replacement. For further assistance please feel free to call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

Your listing says it will fit my 93 Lincoln Mark VIII, but it also says it has a 13/16" oil pick up. The Cobra is 13/16". The rest are ~0.681".
Is this the right pump for my Lincoln with a 4.6?

Yes, an oil pump could be part of the problem. But, depending on the vehicle there could be a couple of either reasons.

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

You should be able to replace an oil pump. An oil pump going out doesn't mean that you have to get a new car. Some damage may have been caused by your oil pump going out.
