Comments about Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Ultra-Cut Compound (32 oz.):

To get scratches out of gelcoat, use the least aggressive sandpaper possible i.e. 1000 grit, then go to finer sandpaper i.e. 1500, 2000,3000 grit. Then rub or machine buff with the Meguires Ultra Cut. Follow that with Meguires Ultimate Compound/Polish. Finally, use a good carnauba wax.

Comments about Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Ultra-Cut Compound (32 oz.):

I used this product to remove swirls after I wet sanded the gelcoat on the fiberglass glass hull on my sailboat. I had to use 320 grit sandpaper so the swirls were pretty prononced. It does dry out so I had to mist with water as I buffed. Must use a buffer. I had to do some areas by hand. They did not turn out very well. Overall great product but a little pricey.

Comments about Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Ultra-Cut Compound (32 oz.):

M105 is meant to be applied via da polisher or rotary buffer. When using the 105, it has a tendency to "dust" and be difficult to remove. One way of getting around this is to mist the worked product with some distilled water and continue breaking down the abrasives in the compound with your polisher. Then when it comes time to remove the product from the paint to spray a little quick detailer and wipe off with a QUALITY microfiber towel. Follow it up with M205 and it finishes down quite nicely!

Comments about Meguiar's Mirror Glaze Ultra-Cut Compound (32 oz.):

Meguiar's ultra cut compound is a tad expensive considering other "off the shelf" products, but WELL WORTH the money considering the amazing results. I used it in conjunction with a yellow cutting pad and the Porter Cable dual-action orbital polisher. This combination produced unrivaled results, resotring the condition of my Jeep's paint from many off-road excursions and scraping/scratches from trees, briars, etc. The paint is now scratch free and the color, depth and reflection have returned. Great product! Easy and SAFE to use with a dual-action polisher. No swirling or marring of the finish which is sometimes expected for an aggressive compounding step. Amazing!

Used it for the first time on a rock-hard Mercedes hood with orange LCC pad/Metabo rotary. Yielded fantastic results (especially when followed with 205 on a grey/black pad). Then tried it with an orange pad/Porter Cable in smaller areas with similarly great results. A must for my arsenal.
