I purchased this for a 17 HP riding lawn mower with 1/4" fuel line. After installation, unable to run the engine beyond 2/3rds throttle without it starving for fuel. In addition, it runs out of gas after 1 gallon of the 3 gallon gas tank has been used...the carb is unable to draw fuel through the greatly restricted petcock without the extra weight/gravity of that first gallon.

I was hoping to remove it and drill it out slightly to improve flow. Can't do that because it's not a ball valve. It's a plastic cam mechanism with a rubber sleeve that seals against the intake port when turned perpendicular to the flow. Unfortunately, that cam and rubber sleeve remain in the center of the fuel path even when the petcock is fully open.

Probably works fine on smaller HP engines (10 and under?).

Comments about Max Power 1/4" Fuel Shut-Off Valve:

i bought this for my 17.5hp craftsman lawn tractor. The carb was leaking in the cyl. I rebuilt the carb and had the same issue. I bought this and after cutting the lawn i turn the fuel off and the flow stops. Works great. I bought another and installed on my wood chipper.

Extra shut off fuel supply when I needed
Work every time. Cheap too. Good quality valve
Bought online with 20% off, pick up from the store
They also have 1/4 clamps , so you can secure hose better with these clamps ( Lawn Garden section).

Comments about Max Power 1/4" Fuel Shut-Off Valve:

The ethanol in today's gasoline is highly corrosive to carburetors and fuel systems. You should turn off the fuel supply and run the engine until it uses the gas in the supply lines and carb before storing the equipment for any length of time. You should drain the remaining fuel from the tank.

Great for draining damaging Ethanol fuel from small engines when not is use. Just close the valve and let the engine run out.
