This review is on service and not the part itself because I haven't had it installed yet. I ordered the part on line, great price with coupon code. Went to pick it up the next day and it wasn't in stock. The manager apologized , had someone pick up the part and deliver it to me at my job, same day. No big deal , very friendly employees, definitely will shop again at the Goliad and Fair Ave location again in San Antonio Texas.

Two years after replacing the catalytic converter, the car computer is telling me I have "decreased efficiency in catalytic converter". So, now I have to buy another one.

Put quite a bit of work into changing the cats, but when your car is older than your kid, it's the kind of thing you expect. Did a bit of research and the catalytic converter change is a good way to get hosed. But it is alot of work—no way around it. So far (just a day in) I'm pleased with the result.

                    A:

I'm glad to assist, Chunkey Monkey! To use a universal converter, you will need to cut out the old converters and weld in the replacements. Please make sure your vehicle does not confirm to California emissions standards before purchasing a standard grade converter. If your vehicle confirms to CA emissions, you will need an OEM grade converter. The only way to be sure of this is to check the "Vehicle Emission Control Information" tag located under the hood.

                    A:

Happy to help you with your question Sputt! A bolt on Catalytic Converter would be Part No 23499 for the 2.2L engine and Part No 23465 or 54262 for the 2.4l engine. For this universal unit you can do either, it can be welded or you can use exhaust clamps. If you where going to use clamps you can use Part No 517214.

Hi Hector, glad to assist you! This part would fit your 2001 Honda CR-V. As this is a universal converter and not an exact O.E (Original Equipment) replacement, some slight modifications may be required. This has a slip fit inlet and outlet attachment. You would need 2 inch clamps and exhaust hangers for installing this converter. For help with your project, I recommend purchasing a Haynes or Chilton repair manual specifically for your vehicle. This should be able to assist you further into detail on how to repair or replace specific parts.
