Whether you're working on a classic car, race car or just your daily driver, a MagnaFlow universal converter should be the standard building block for your custom exhaust. Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

After the first year it developed cracks and I
had to have it welded. A half year after that it had to be welded again due to poor welding at the factory and poor quality control. I would definitely stay away from this product.

Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

Top-notch stainless steel construction. Installed easily and made the P0420 code go away. I did need to get an 18mm plug (about $10) from NAPA to deal with the extra sensor hole, as another reviewer noted. As he also noted, I had to modify the lower mounting bracket to make it fit the car.

I was concerned when I noticed that this "direct bolt-on" part did not have any provisions for attaching the stock heat shields, but I contacted Magnaflow and they said the heat shields are not required with their product. I suggested they include a note to that effect in the box with the product; it would have saved a little confusion and a few emails.

Overall, a great product and an almost perfect fit.

Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

It was everything I needed in one box.The only thing missing was an 18mm plug to put in the extra O2 sensor hole and i had to bend the lower support braket a little to bolt it to the engine block. It came with manifold and flange gaskets and bolted up good.

Hi Danny, glad to assist you! Yes you should be able to use this in New Hampshire state as it is a 49 state legal catalytic converter and it is not legal only in California.

          • Q:

I purchased a Magnaflow direct fit catalytic converter for a 2006 Nissan Altima S. It did not have holes to reconnect the heat sheilds. Is this a product design flaw or did I just get a bad one? Need to know if I should return it for another or buy one that has holes for the heat sheilds?

              A:

The MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel - Part No. 50805 comes with a heavy gauge stainless steel, tip to tip and there is no heat shield for this line of Magnaflow. Unfortunately I do not see a similar catalytic converter with heat shields for this application online. However I would recommend that you call us at: 1-877-238-2623 or visit the nearest Advance Auto store and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.
