The system is well assembled and attractive and the Overall fit is good. but the converter connection is poor. On my car, a 2002 Prizm I had to remove the exhaust drop between the manifold and the converter and slice the connection with a Sawzall twice to to shrink it in diameter. I also had to drive a piece of scrap pipe into the flange on the new converter to swedge it out to a larger diameter so the old pipe would slide into the new one correctly. None of this should be necessary.

This part was not an exact fit for my 2001 Chevy Prism. I had to do some significant modifications to get this part to work. The main problem was the connection of the converter end of the pipe to the pipe on your car coming from the exhaust manifold. The new pipe is too small to allow the old pipe to slip inside. I had to use a pipe expander and grinder to reduce the size of the old pipe diameter and increase the diameter of the new pipe. After much modification, I was able to slip the new pipe over the old. Another problem was the gasket provided. It was too big for the flanges. It would not fit. The old flange clamps would not fit either. Overall, this is not a easy part to install and not a exact fit for my vehicle. Too much modification required.

Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

Let me start by saying this is not a easy product to install on your own. Thank god I work on car quiet a bit and had all the tools needed other then your socket set (which should have been all I needed). I bought exhaust for 01 Corolla because it was suppose to be a direct fit and looked that way. Removing the exhaust wasn't too bad but required to drill out bolts by the muffler due to rust. So I figure I throw some spare bolts and nuts. Also your are going to have to reuse the front stock clamp. The problem came when you go to mount the front part of the exhaust from the car with the new cat on the car. The new one seems to have a smaller mouth then the old one, which meant I had to pull out my grinder and start cutting out about a inch of the tube of where the exhaust would go into the new CAT. Got it down to where the tube would go into the new exhaust but the gasket was too big. So I went to advance where they replacement gasket they had was correct one. From there smooth sailing.

Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

I was concerned about the "direct fit" part describing the catalytic converter. I didn't want to weld anything so I went with the full assembly from the header to the muffler. Part delivered on time and everything intact. Very satisfied with the fit for my 2002 Toyota Corolla. One Note: make sure to keep your slip joint connectors or flanges since they do not come with the assembly. You do get a connector for the 2 parts as seen above but they only other parts are a donut gasket and a flat gasket for connecting to the muffler. I expected this anyway so was not disappointed. I was surprised to find that nobody seems to sell new connectors so I improvised and went with the original ones I removed from the old converter assembly. All in all; very happy and it all works well. Also erased the Check Engine Light for the clogged converter.

Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

What is shown in the picture is what you get. This catalytic converter was installed on a 1998 Toyota Corolla. It bolted up and matched well to the vehicle. The only issue is that the inside diameter of the flange does not fit over the outside diameter of the front pipe of a 1998 Corolla. Other than sending the part back I had two choices. Cut the old flange off of the original pipe and weld it to the new pipe or shorten and make relief cuts to decrease the OD of the front pipe so that it will fit into the flange section. Save the old flange gasket, it will be needed to use on this fitment.

The flared end does not fit the factory downtube. I should have read reviews. Supposed to fit my 02 prizm but does not. Also did not appear that it was long enough either. Epic Fail.

I was extremely displeased at this product. The front end of the pipe had a cheesy flare and it came with a half donut gasket. This could not be made to work with the factory downpipe. DO NOT BUY THIS if your looking to for a simple installation. You will have to completely reweld everything at the downpipe from the engine to make it work!
