This product is not a direct fit the bracket is on the wrong side. The intake side of the converter does not fit inside of the muffler.

Comments about MagnaFlow Direct Fit Catalytic Converter, Stainless Steel:

Good price to keep your car legal and running good. I bought this to replace the original cat on a '96 explorer. I had a P0420 engine code. The term direct fit in the product description is one I would use loosely. I fought for the better part of a day with this thing. The main issue is the rod that slides into the hanger bracket did not line up. I tried bending it and greasing it, but to no avail. I then cut off a portion of the rod so it would fit better. This did nothing and I finally cut the hanging rod off. I was able to bolt the cat into the exhaust system after that, but it is a bit shorter than the original. I think I am leak free, but it is hard to tell until the "newness" burns off. On the plus side this replacement is significantly lighter than the original cat. I do not know if that will be a good thing in the long run, but then car is old so I do not anticipate keeping it forever.
