WHEN MY 1990 FORD F-350 CREW-CAB'S TRANSMISSION BEGAN WHINING, I KNEW A BEARING WAS GOING BAD AND IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE CLERK SUGGESTED LUCAS TRANSMISSION. I ADDED ABOUT A PINT AND THE NOISE STOPPED. THAT WAS ABOUT 100,000 MILES AGO AND THE TRANSMISSION IS QUIETER THAN EVER. THIS STUFF WORKS. I USED ABOUT 1/4 THE RECOMMENDED RATE... JUST ENOUGH TO CONDITION THE TRANS FLUID. READ THE DIREDCTIONS CAREFULLY AND DO NOT USE THIS ON LATE MODEL AUTOS THAT HAVE SPECIALTY FLUIDS LIKE GM TRANSFER CASES THAT REQUIRE ONLY A GM PRODUCT UNLESS YOU ARE USING THIS AS A LAST RESORT.

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Transmission Fix 24 oz.:

I added this to my transmission to stop an annoying leak. It works great and stopped the leak. It seems to be shifting better as well. Saved me from replacing the front seal and spending over a thousand dollars.

Pros

  • A Good Preventative
  • Highly Recommended

Cons

  • Expensive
  • Slow To Pour

Best Uses

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Transmission Fix 24 oz.:

I decided not to wait until my transmission slipped, or was already damaged before adding 24 oz. of Lucas Transmission Fix.

Most people wait until the transmission is already damaged before trying Lucas Trans Fix. By then, it's too late. No additive will fix a worn, or damaged transmission. Use this during trans fluid changes as a preventative maintenance and to prevent future wear & tear on transmission parts. Helps to keep the temperature in your transmission cooler as it cleans and lubricates.
While it's a little pricey, it does help extend the life of your transmission. Be careful not to over-fill your transmission. If you add 24 ounces, you should first drain out 24 ounces. Best use is during regular trans fluid & filter changes. Be ready to spend some time pouring this stuff down your transmission tube. This stuff is thick but quickly blends (..and thins out) w/ your regular transmission fluid. Be sure to drive the car 30 minutes after adding Lucas Trans Fix to mix in w/ regular trans. fluid. I rate this 5-out of 5 STARS as a preventative maintenance additive. AlexB. Griffin, GA

I use to replace a quart of trans fluid with ANY transmission service on any of my vehicles. Truly makes a difference. Try it one time, and you'll use it everytime... I tried after recommendation from a friend. One bit of advice.. best to use in spring/summer/early fall while the temperature is atleast somewhat decent.. when it is cold out, this stuff is thicker than molasses.

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Transmission Fix 24 oz.:

my avalanche was shifting a little hard into 3rd so I added about half a bottle and noticed a smoother transition in the gears after about 15 miles. If this doesn't work for you and you car wont shift 1-2 2-3 look up a how to video to replace your shift solenoids. A shift kit cost way less than a mechanic saying you need a complete rebuild which is just a way to make money and all they do is clean it and change the shift solenoids out. Doesn't take much money and or time to try yourself. Anyway this stuff works pretty good I recommend it.
