Comments about Lucas Oil Products Synthetic SAE 75W-90 Transmission and Differential Lube (32 oz.):

I use this in my 02 Avalanche 1500. I originally used the advanced auto brand but it seemed to cause my rear end to lose some power or caused a restriction. I ran that for a couple weeks to clean up the gears a little bit I never intended to leave the advanced brands in there. Not saying the advanced gear oil is bad but it just didn't work very well for my truck. I replaced with Lucas brand gear oil and the hesitation is gone!! I can accelerate much smoother and get up to speed a little faster. I also noticed the bottle is wider and shorter than most which makes it easier to use in tight spaces on some vehicles. I also use the oil stabilizer in my truck every couple oil changes as well and the fuel treatment every so often when I'm feeling foggy usually I go for seafoam to clean my injectors. I really like Lucas products and have never had a problem with them in any of my vehicles. Its definitely work the extra money to get a higher quality fluid whether its oil, gear oil, transmission fluid or anything that lubricates a moving part. Its one of the most important parts of vehicle operation and cheap oils or goin to long between changes will cost you in the end for sure! great product and I will use it again and in all of my vehicles! 02 Avalanche, 01 explorer, 02 mustang, 07 mustang GT, 97 Silverado, 09 rogue, 91 3000GT, 83 CJ7.

Picked two of these up with some clear tubing to change the fluid in my MKV VW rabbit manual transmission. I drained the old oil from the bottom, and filled the new through the reverse switch as per the VW tech bullitin. Do your research before performing work to avoid damage.

So far Lucas synthetic differential fluid has worked well for me in my Ram 2500 but most motorheads seem to prefer Amsoil, Royal Purple, or Mobil 1. I like any of the four,. Some also suggest using heavier weight fluid but if you don't tow a lot I'd stay with the lighter original 70w90 like the Lucas. I might give more or fewer stars after I have more miles on it.

Hi csc, glad to assist you! This transmission and differential lube would be suitable for 2004 Mitsubishi Fuso FG since it is a super-slick, long-lasting lubricant that is designed especially for heavy-duty or high performance applications where regular gear lubricants just aren't good enough. It contains a special additive package that increases lubricity and insures less gear noise and longer bearing life. Lucas pure synthetic gear oil is also designed to stand up to high temperatures without losing its lubricity, making it excellent for use in limited slip differentials.

I have a NV3550 transmission in a Jeep Wrangler. Everything I read is saying that Redline MT90 is the best replacement transmission oil for this transmission. However, they are saying to stay away from GL5 gear lubes because the additives are harsh to synchronizers. I cannot tell if Lucas has the GL5 additives or not. Can anyone shed some light on this. Thanks so much.

                          • Q:

I ride a BMW motorcycle. BMW specifies a GL 5 75W90 oil for both the transmission and the final drive (differential). I prefer synthetic oils for use in my vehicles. I need to find a synthetic GL 5 oil that does NOT have the limited slip additive usually found in synthetic gear oils.

My question is whether or not the Lucas M 8 Marine Gear Oil (75W90) would be suitable for this use? From what I can read, it appears to be suitable, but before taking a chance, I'd like to know that I won't destroy the transmission and final drive if I use it.

                            Thank you.
