Comments about Lucas Oil Products Power Steering Stop Leak 12 oz.:

recently had a small leak from the rack and pinnion, i put some of this in thinking maybe it would slow it down or stop the leak long enough to save for the part. instead it didnt stop the leak, AND it gave me the added joy of gumming up the pressure hose. fixed the rack/ and pump, now i must replace the hose because lucas gummed it up. my advice, replace the leaky part rather than use this cheap mechanic in a bottle.

Used in 25 year old truck that started leaking. Stuff is thick as cane molasses when cold outside. I put it in a 5+ far and it took awhile to get it out. Worked great since.

After trying two other popular products without success, I came across Lucas' Power Steering Stop Leak. The first time I checked the fluid after using most of the bottle was the first time I had any fluid in the reservoir at all. I added the remaining portion and it has remained full after 1200 miles.

Hi Robert, good question! If the system is leaking add Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak until leak stops, usually one bottle. Occasionally a second bottle is needed to completely stop some leaks. To eliminate squeals, whines and hard spots (morning sickness) some fluid must be sucked from the reservoir (about 6 - 12 ounces) before topping up with Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak to restore the condition of you power steering.

This Lucas Oil Products Power Steering Stop Leak - part# 10008 may fix the steering leak on your Volvo V70 as it helps to eliminate hard spots and stop seal leaks. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

If you system is leaking this may help. You may want to check to make sure that your power steering pump is working properly but since we can not be there with your vehicle, we are unable to diagnose properly.
