Fluid poured from steering box before & after use. The bottle says guaranteed or money back , BUT< the guys at the store said return to manufacturer. It does not say on the bottle where to return it & after a lot of back & forth they gave Me My money back & wrote it off as defective. Manufacturer should say WHO warranties the product !

My power steering pump was leaking so bad I was filling it up every day. Tried 3 other brands of stop leak and none of them did anything to help. Was about to replace the pump, but decided to try Lucas as a last resort. Put half a bottle in on a Friday evening, Saturday morning the resevoir was empty. Figured it had not worked but poured the rest of the Lucas in there. Sunday morning all had drained out. Refilled with regular power steering fluid. Monday morning, fluid was still full and no leaks. 3 months later, have not had to add any more fluid. This did the job and I have yet to have any more problems with my power steering. Wish I would have tried this before all the other stop leak brands.

I had a leak in the power steering rack on my 2001 grand prix. I added about a half a bottle of lucas and the leak seemed to stop. That was a year ago. What I did was add some sea foam trans tune which is good for power steering pumps as well as transmissions. I drove it for about a week and sucked out the old fluid/sea foam with a turkey baster and added the lucas. I usually just add a little bit at a time. I typically don't dump a whole bottle in right at first.

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry with V-6 engine and 325,000 miles that began leaking power steering fluid about one month ago from an undetermined point in my steering system. The leak worsened quickly to the point that I was losing one pint of power steering fluid after driving 80 miles. Two days ago, I put one bottle of Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak into the almost empty power steering reservoir. One day ago, I drove 80 miles round trip and noted that the reservoir was still completely full when I arrived home. Today, I drove 80 miles again and noted quite happily that the reservoir was yet again still completely full upon my arrival home.

I have a 2001 Grand Prix that developed a leak. It got to the point where I was adding fluid every 50-60 miles. I tried this product just in case it would work. I filled my resevoir with this product and 350 miles later it is still full. It also made my steering very smooth. It worked for my old buggy.

This is the first time I used this product or even knew that it existed. The product is more expensive than other power steering fluids, but by stopping the leak in the power steering system, it eliminated the need to continue buying the lessor power steering fluid. This is also environmentally better since I now longer spew petroleum product all over the road. Let us not forget the safety aspect as well. It is a comfort to know that I will have my power steering as I drive to steer clear of any danger.

recently had a small leak from the rack and pinnion, i put some of this in thinking maybe it would slow it down or stop the leak long enough to save for the part. instead it didnt stop the leak, AND it gave me the added joy of gumming up the pressure hose. fixed the rack/ and pump, now i must replace the hose because lucas gummed it up. my advice, replace the leaky part rather than use this cheap mechanic in a bottle.

I'm glad to assist you, Theresa! This Lucas Oil Products Power Steering Stop Leak - Part No. 10008 starts working the minute you install and start driving the vehicle. To stop leaks, add Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak (12 oz) until the leak stops, usually one bottle. Occasionally a second bottle is needed to completely stop severe leaks. Do not overfill. Keep adding as necessary until the leak stops. To control squeals, whines, noise, hard spots - remove (turkey baster) 12 ounces of your old fluid from your fluid reservoir. Fill the reservoir with Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak. Top off the fluid level with old fluid if necessary.

I have a 1966 Mustang which has power steering leaks where the hose fittings connect to the power steering cylinder. These fittings are tapered flared fittings, metal to metal. Because there are no seals or O-rings, will Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak fluid solve the leaks. Most stop leak fluids just freshen and expand the O-rings and seals. Why is Lucas different?

I'm happy to help, Jack! Nice car! The Lucas Oil Products Power Steering Stop Leak (Part No. 10008) will also help to expand seals. From the Safety Data Sheet the main ingredient in this product is solvent-refined heavy naphthenic petroleum distillates. This is not likely to fill in any metal to metal leaks in the tapered flared fittings. I suggest replacing the leaking components on your 1966 Ford Mustang to ensure that you can keep driving that classic car for years to come. I have a 1966 ford mustang and the leaks occur where the fittings from the control valve go into the power steering cylinder? The leaks are not significant. Will Lucas stop this type of leak?

Hi Jack, happy to help yo! The Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak completely stops power steering seal leaks. It is 100% guaranteed or your money back. It is also totally effective in reducing slack, squeals, and hard spots in worn rack and pinions. Your results will be immediate and long lasting. If the system is leaking add Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak until leak stops, usually one bottle. Occasionally a second bottle is needed to completely stop some leaks. To eliminate squeals, whines and hard spots (morning sickness) some fluid must be sucked from the resevoir (about 6 - 12 ounces) before topping up with Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak to restore the condition of you power steering. However, I would suggest that you take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

Honda recommends a special power steering fluid. One of Lucas power steering fluids says it is compatible for Honda cars. However, on it there is a note suggesting one to use Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak 10008 for already existing leaks. But on 10008 there is no indication on whether it can be used on Hondas or not. I have a leak on my Honda and I need to know if it will damage my car if I use it. Someone else asked this question here and you left the answer ambiguous. You must know by now, if you are getting complains. Please tell us yes or no.

I'm happy to help, Nicks Honda! Lucas Power Steering Stop Leak (Part No. 10008) may or may not repair the leak in your Honda's power steering system. The product reviews that our customers provide can include use in many vehicles besides Honda's. From my research, there have been no catastrophic failures from the use of the stop leak in Hondas; some did not have the leak fixed and others had no issues and the product stopped their leak.

When there is a leak in the system, the best way to repair the leak is by replacing the offending part. Honda will not recommend the use of additives in their power steering system and replacing the fluid will not cure the leak you are experiencing.

If you are concerned about damage to your power steering system, I suggest having the failed part(s) replaced. This is guaranteed to fix the leak as well as keep the fluid in your power steering system at Honda specifications.
