Used two bottles of Lucas with 3 quarts of standard oil to bring life back to an old engine. The oil pressure was dropping to 0 while at idle. A freind reccommended I give the Lucas a try before dropping any big bucks on repairs. Now the engine holds 25 psi at idle and runs 40 psi on the highway. I have ran it for 3,000 miles with no further oil pressure issues.

Not really sure about this product. I'm a fan of almost all lucas products but i'm honestly just "up in the air" with this one. First time using it. It didn't do anything "bad", but it hasn't done anything really noticeable on the good side either. I'm giving 3 stars just based on my experience. Worth a try atleast once. Others may have seen something fantastic happen, but I haven't noticed anything. I guess time will tell. I will update later.

I was changing the starter on a Toyota which required the intake manifold and fuel injectors be removed. Of course, once it was disassembled, it decided to rain. I bought the treatment to put in the intake ports to resist the water on the tops of the pistons and it worked perfectly.

I own a 04 explorer and it has the curse of the timing chain raddle from worn cassettes and chain tensioners. I used 2 QTs of Lucas oil stabilizer in my 5 Qt normal application. The 2 qts of lucas and 3 qts of mobil one has stopped all noise and runs great!!! I was about to do a complete timing chain replacment but the lucas has got me second guessin it. Great for worn engines and engines you just lost hope in honestly!

Hello, I have a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.7 Hemi engine with 85,000 miles, as of recent my lifters have been ticking during cold starts. This product came up on several Dodge forums as a solution to the ticking; would this specific product be the solution to my lifters ticking?

                  A:

Hi Eloy, I am happy to help! The Lucas Oil Products Heavy-Duty Oil Stabilizer is great way to reduce the ticking, if not maybe even eliminate the noise from your vehicle. The ticking noise you are getting is probably from the lost of oil in the lifters over a long period of time of just sitting. This a common effect after the angle of the vehicle is changed from the lifted suspension. The greatest benefit of using Lucas Oil Stabilizer will help prevent dry starts.

                  A:

Hi Nick, glad to assist you! Lucas Heavy-Duty Oil Stabilizer is a pure petroleum multi-use oil supplement. Use it to control noise, heat, and wear in manual transmissions and differentials. Lucas Oil Stabilizer is a 100 percent petroleum product formulated to eliminate dry starts and reduce friction, heat, and wear in any type of engine. It allows motor oils a higher degree of lubricity, which reduces oil consumption and operating temperatures. Use Lucas Oil Stabilizer in gear oil to stop leaks, reduce operating temperatures, and increase the life of the gear oil. Since it is pure petroleum, it can safely blend with all other automotive lubricants, even synthetics, ATF, and mineral oil. It keeps old engines alive and new engines new. However, I would suggest that you to take your vehicle and get it thoroughly checked by a certified mechanic before buying any parts that may/may not solve the problem.

Hi Mchenry, glad to assist you! In engines use approximately 20% or one quart to each gallon of any plain motor oil, petroleum or synthetic. In badly worn engines, use more – up to 60% or 80% if necessary. In manual transmissions use 25% to 50%. In differentials use 50% to 100%. In transfer cases use 50% to 100%. In industrial gear boxes use 25% to 50% for preventative maintenance and less power drain. If necessary, use 50% to 100% to stop leaks and overheating.
