I have used Lucas Oil Stop Leak 3 times on my '03 Ford Taurus, just passed 200,000 miles. The first time I simply added to my oil as the level was dropping about 3/4 of a quart every 2 weeks. After adding it, the oil level didn't drop. The other 2 times I added during an oil change. I've gone almost 3 months since that oil change and its only about 3/4 of a quart below full. It may not "stop" oil loss, but its close enough, as I do not have to add oil between oil changes. I also extends the oil life.

I've had a slow leak somewhere on the top of the engine on my 2000 Lincoln LS with the 3.9L, V8 that about 148K miles on it, and the guy at Advanced said this is the stuff he would use. I poured in the entire bottle and added a Quart of oil. Drove the car for about a half hour and it was seeming to run a little bit better after driving it at a constant speed of 55mph. Hopefully it will work and fix the leak.

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Engine Oil Stop Leak 32 oz.:

It worked out pretty good combo of running blue devil at a strategic interveral and dropping oil and putting in 5 oil and 1 of the Lucas figures even if it didn't work it's still Lucas and I always use Lucas anyways. But so far I think my leak stopped althonim pretty sure my leak wasn't a rear main or anything serious. 220k vortec 4.8 tho so I wasn't going to do much real work to it so I took a chance and it's working so far.

Comments about Lucas Oil Products Engine Oil Stop Leak 32 oz.:

Lucas Oil Stop Leak is a thick additive to be used motor oil to help seal piston rings and seals within the motor. This product is made from the same base stock and the Lucas Oil Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer and is the same consistency. I would recommend that this product be poured in first then the remainder of the standard motor oil being used in an attempt to flush the thicker oil down to the oil pan. As stated this product is very thick and the directions should be followed closely if you are considering using the product. Yes, this product can raise your oil pressure but it should also be noted that pressure and flow are not the same thing. My personal use has not shown a vast improvment but that is only over the short term. I belive Lucas make quality products and I'll continue to use them.

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Hello Denny. Thank you for your question. We do not suggest mixing oil additives. They may not affect engine performance but they may dilute themselves so they are less effective. We suggest to only use 1 oil additive at a time.

    • Q:

I just bought this yesterday and put half of a quart container in my Toyoto 4-Runner. The guy who sold it to me said I should drive as I usually do, and put the rest of it in after I've driven 200 miles/or within a week. Is that correct?
Asked on 11/17/2015 by spsdallas from Dallas, TX

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Hi there Spsdallas! For this additive you only need 1 quart(additive) per 4 quarts (oil). After you have added the correct amount then you just drive like normal.

    • Q:

When I added 1 qt. of this stop leak, my oil level went over max. Is this a big problem?
      Asked on 11/12/2015 by Dixie

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Hi Dixie, I'm glad to assist you. The stop leak is only going to work on minor leaks. Overfilling the oil usually results in the excess being burnt off with white smoke at the exhaust pipe. If drastically overfilled it could get past seals into the clutch or transmission. If it is seriously over, drain all the oil out and put the correct amount back in. Any home mechanic could do this.
