  • Q:

I want to know if this cylinder lock is seperate from the standard one that was used in 1987? Can the car be started with the tip of the key and be removed while the car is moving? I was told that the 87' Toyota Camry was produced with only 10 different locks/cylinders. My car was stolen once and thankfully I got it back but now I use a "Club".

      A:

Yes, the Locksmart Ignition Lock Cylinder and Keys - Part No. LC14570 is different from the stock part used in a 1987 Toyota Camry. The part comes with professional quality construction using solid brass tumblers, chrome plated brass keys, die-cast zinc lock cores and multiple, randomly assigned key codes which ensures superior operation. You would not be able to start the car with the tip of the key or remove it while driving.
