Comments about Krylon Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

I purchased this grease gun a couple years ago when I had to replace universal joints on a propeller shaft. The product worked OK for this one time, but constantly leaked afterward. It has been a couple years and I need to re-grease them, but I will have to purchase another grease gun. After the initial use, there was no pressure in the trigger afterwards, and constantly leaked from anywhere it could (top, bottom, hose, tip, you name it).

Comments about Krylon Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

Like the other review, the second time I went to use it the gun would just pump & pump. The plunger would slip right through the grease and not compact the grease against the top either.

                By

Comments about Krylon Pistol-Grip Grease Gun:

It worked as expected for a short period of time but then nothing when you pump the handle. I didn't think I was out of grease since I don't use it that much but I took it apart anyway. Somehow most of the grease had got behind the plunger? When you pull it back the grease is forced out the lock lever. I got about 3 grease jobs out of this. Seems like from the reviews most people have better luck than I did. Maybe I got a dud?

I don't think my grease gun came with a rubber diaphragm attached to the plunger. It does not seem to work correctly pushing the grease to the top of the gun. Is it possible to get a rubber diaphragm if it is missing?

                  • CUSTOMER CARE

                    A:

Rotate counter clockwise, unscrew head cap from gun barrel. Due to lack of lubrication on the rubber plunger, new grease guns may be difficult to load with grease cartridges the first time. Apply a liberal coating of grease to plunger when using gun for the first time. This grease gun requires a 14 oz grease cartridge. Draw the handle back fully so that the plunger rod catches and locks into place. After removing the plastic cap from the 14 oz grease cartridge, apply a small amount of grease to the inside edge of the cartridge. This will make insertion of the plunger easier. Push grease cartridge into the gun barrel completely, until metal edge tightly seals top of the grease gun barrel. Detach flip-top seal from cartridge. Screw on head cap approximately two turns, being sure not to tighten. Release plunger rod from its locked position and push in. Push on plunger rod handle to force plunger into cartridge. At the same time, pump the lever or handle to release trapped air. When grease comes through vents and the head of the gun, fully the head cap to the barrel. As soon as the gun in pumping grease, carefully depress the lock release and push the plunger rod the rest of the way into the gun.
