Product does seal, I will give it that. The problem is that it sealed my radiator before the product ever got to the engine! Now this could be due to the fact that a radiator on a Honda Civic has very small ports, but then again, the product claims it can be used in any automobile. It has a very thick consistency, even when shaken well. Maybe it could get to the engine on a bigger vehicle with a huge radiator, but I am not convinced. I would give zero stars if it was an option. I will follow up if the company actually honors the Double Money-Back guarantee or if I get the run around. Ended up having to buy a new car!

    Comments about K & W Chemical FiberLock® Head Gasket & Block Repair, 32 oz.:

If your aluminum block engine has an intake gasket or head gasket that is blown and white smoke comes from the exhaust but water is NOT in the oil. Then this will save the engine 90% of the time. For the price it is worth trying. Dealers use the same thing an charge a lot more. I have used it twice and it worked both times. Add into radiator or upper radiator hose if your car doesn't have a radiator cap. Run engine with heater on until engine reaches normal temperature then let idle for 20 minutes and your done. You can leave it in the engine until you need to replace antifreeze, it won't harm anything in your engine at all.

Used Blue Devil Head Gasket sealant on same vehicle 8 months ago. Do now I've tried. K,&W it's been great for a couple weeks now. But a better surprise was the the engine smoothed out the ticking during idle and the horse power seems to improved along with gas milage. Due to thickness add to radiator hose. I added 1/2 gallon antifreeze then half bottle of K&W to hose. Added another Half gallon of antifreeze. Reattached hose the filled radiator, started engine heat on high for 15 minutes been driving ever since.

94 S10 155k mil. Had head gasket leak into cooling system. Would over pressurize system and over heat! Est. for fix over 1k. Figured why not try this. Added to top hose and ran as required. stopped problem enough to drive without over heating but still ran hot. Each drive got better. After 4 20 mile drives, totally sealed. One problem was no heat! Took off hoses to Heater core and flushed both ways. Heat is at 150 deg. now! My recommendation would be to loop Heater hose until sealed.

            Comments about K & W Chemical FiberLock® Head Gasket & Block Repair, 32 oz.:

I realized why the tip on the bottle said to pour directly into coolant hose not into overfill tank. I poured some in and it seemed to clog. I put some in the coolant hose as stated. It took a while for it to go in but then it did. I put some water after. I put some water in the coolant tank. Seemed like I clogged up the upper return port. I waited a bit. Then eventually the water started to flow. The car was smoking as usual.

I turned the car off after idling and pouring as stated. I turned the car back on and it seemed to have a tight solid start. Like the feeling when all the screws are tightened down more. I drove around on the highway a bit then came back. I noticed no more smoke around the engine. My car has 233 thousand miles. It says not only does it seal coolant leaks, which my car kept losing coolant which I had to refill every 3-5 days for the past 3 weeks, it also fixes the head gasket. That is very interesting. Maybe it sealed the head gasket even further for more power. I floored it on the highway and it seemed fast like when I first got it.

It seems this not only is a cure for a coolant leak but a performance improver as well!!

Had a coolant leak that I couldn't find after removing and checking all hoses. Wasn't the heater core either. Had to be a gasket. Unlike other products I was looking at, this one didn't require me to flush the system...bet. No cap directly on the radiator so we had to loosen the hose and pour it in that way. Let the car idle for a 20 minutes then took it for a ride. No leaks so far. If nothing else this is a great quick temporary fix but I'm hoping it's permanent like the manufacturer boasts. If I could suggest anything it would be that they sell it in a small bottle too as I didn't even use half. Thanks!

                    A:

I'm happy to help, Vince! Based on the amount of coolant loss per day as you indicated, it would be better to use a product that will seal quickly in the coolant system. This K & W Chemical FiberLock® Head Gasket & Block Repair - Part No. 401224-6 can work, but the flow rate of the leak will make it difficult to seal before too much product is loss. You may be better off working with a product like K & W Block Seal, which can form a seal within 20-30 minutes but will need to cure for 24 hours. We would advise before using any sealing product to ensure that the leak is not coming from the water pump or thermostat as these products cannot repair these parts.

                • Q:

Will this seal leak on radiator itself, and to what extent of leak/crack will this seal?

If I fill radiator via filler cap to level once it reaches topping point there appears to be a leak at the seam on the back side below filler spout. Under running condition it spews all antifreeze along this seam towards the engine, and lose all antifreeze.

Or should I just replace radiator? Cost of radiator is about 50+ range.

Happy to help you with your question Hommie! It will honestly vary on how clogged the radiator is, we have an item that can help flush the radiator (Part No pkf0ae) but again how well it works will vary on how bad the clog is.

Hi Hommie, I'm glad to help you! This product would flush out with water. It may take a few passes with water to remove the product from the radiator. If you believe that the thermostat is clogged, then I would suggest removing the thermostat and rinsing it with water and then re-installing it.

Hi Jennifer, good question! You have to flush your radiator and entire cooling system before you pour the K & W Chemical FiberLock® Head Gasket & Block Repair - Part No. 401224-6 stuff in. Otherwise, this stuff may clog your system.
