Comments about K&N Universal Cold Air Intake:

I have not had time to install the air cleaner. It will go in a right hand drive miata and will some modification to the car. I havn't heard of any one else that has installed one in this type of car but I am looking forward to putting it in as well as getting better performanc/mileage as I have measured up to 55 degrees higher temperature at the factory intake location and the outside air.

        • Q:

I have a 1997 Honda Accord EX V6 2.7L, and my original intake has dry rot and has torn from the block. I am sure rubber hose and clamps could fix that, but I am inquiring to see if the is a better option lie e this one. Please send me any options I have for replacing the intake unit. I wouldn't mind this turning into a good thing.

            A:

Happy to help, NolanCorey! Yes, you are right, you can fix it with rubber hose and clamps. As you know the trick, I don't see a better option that makes this project easy. To repair the air intake hose, plastic epoxy or heat shield hose can be used. If, however, the crack is wide or the hose is rigid due to age, you may have to replace it, although you can try to repair it first.

            A:

Hello there Rick! Because this product features a flexible hose it is rated up to a certain forced induction horse power. You may be able to use it on a supercharged engine up to 350 horse power as well. Regardless of turbo or supercharging anything over 350 and you risk the hose collapsing. We suggest using a solid molded hose that is specific to your vehicle to prevent this.
