Check Vehicle Fit

The K&N 57-1532 FIPK air intake system replaces the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in some Dodge Ram models. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction as they smooth and straighten air flow. This allows your Ram’s engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory air filter assembly. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine’s RPM range. The 57-1532 air intake comes with a K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that installs into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine’s throttle body for a guaranteed power gain. The oversized conical air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed depending on driving conditions. An additional vent air filter installs onto the air temperature sensor. This air intake is relatively easy to install usually in 90 minutes or less requiring only a screwdriver, ratchet set and several wrenches. K&N 57 Series FIPK's are street legal in all 50 US states and come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty.

Comments about K&N Performance Intake Kit:

-I WOULD GIVE IT A 4.5 STAR IF I COULD
        -I OWN A 2004 DODGE RAM 2500 5.9 CUMMINS, RECENTLY REBUILT
-NOT BAD TO GET IN. FIRST TIME I DID THIS DRASTIC OF AN INTAKE INSTALL SO TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR AND CHANGE. A BETTER SKILLED AND EXPERIENCED PERSON COULD DO IT IN ABOUT HALF AN HOUR LIKE IT SAYS.
-MY MILEAGE WENT FROM ABOUT 24 TO ABOUT 29 ON THE INTERSTATE ACCORDING TO THE COMPUTER FOR ABOUT THE SAME ENGINE RPM (I TRY TO RUN AT 1600 RPM'S SINCE I HAVE READ THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE SWEET SPOT FOR EFFECIENCY)
-NEAR THE END OF THE INSTALL SOME OF THE HARDWARE BECOMES DIFFICULT TO GET AT, SO HAVE OPEN END WRENCHES AS WELL AS THE RECOMMENDED TOOLS
-IN MY CASE I HAD TO PUT FOAM PADDING AROUND MY AIR TEMPERATURE SENSOR TO MINIMIZE THE LIKELIHOOD OF IT BOUNCING AND SMASHING ITSELF TO PIECES OVER TIME
-AT TIMES IT SEEMED LIKE I HAD TO FORCE PARTS INTO PLACE TO GET AROUND ITEMS IN MY ENGINE COMPARTMENT. MOST LIKELY DUE TO THE TURBO SYSTEM. NOT A BIG DEAL, BUT I WAS WORRIED ABOUT BREAKING SOMETHING SINCE I DID NOT HAVE ANOTHER VEHICLE TO GET PARTS
-MY AIR FILTER MINDER ENDS UP BEING IN A SMALL POCKET THAT MAKES IT HARD TO SEE, NOT A BIG DEAL
-I DID NOTICE THAT THE PERFORMANCE ALL AROUND WAS IMPROVED, NOT ONLY MILEAGE BUT SHE TAKES OFF FASTER AS WELL
-TURBO WINDS UP AT LOWER RPM'S, TO ME THAT IS A SIGN SHE WAS STARVING FOR AIR COMPARED TO THE STOCK FILTER BOX WITH A K&N FILTER. NOW SHE HAS NO PROBLEM INHALING, AND WITH MY 5" EXHAUST, SHE HAS NO PROBLEM EXHALING EITHER. HA HA

        • Q:

What is the difference between air filters that are washable and then oiled vs the ones you just wash?

            A:

From my understanding, filters that you have to oil are usually made of cotton while the others are not. Oiling the filters, where recommended, actually helps the filtration.
