Check Vehicle Fit

Originally developed for demanding race applications, K&N's Premium Wrench-Off Oil Filter has become a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. Most of our automotive and marine oil filters come with a 1 inch nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The drilled hole on the nut provides for safety wire attachment. Our oil filters also use a resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration.

Product Features:
  • O/E replacement oil filters for most cars, trucks, SUV's, motorcycles, & ATV's
  • Resin-impregnated filter media traps 99% of harmful contaminants
  • 1 inch exposed nut designed for easy oil filter removal
  • Heavy duty construction for extreme conditions
  • Anti-drainback valve (where applicable) eliminates dry starts, prevents oil from draining back into crankcase during engine shutdown

    Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

Just bought this oil filter for the first time, but I am basing my rating upon other K&N products. The filter is sturdy with a place on the top for a wrench to loosen the filter, which I have not seen before.

Changed oil and filters on my truck, my friends two trucks, and another friends SUV. Used K&N filters on all of them. Not an issue with installation, but the built in nut will surely make them a snap to remove.

            Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

The nut on the end makes all the difference compared to other oil filters when it comes to removing and installing on a Jeep Liberty. The location of the oil filter is such that it can only be reached from underneath the vehicle and unless you have very slender forearms, it's almost impossible to reach the oil filter. If I didn't know better, I'd say a K&N engineer owned a Jeep Liberty and decided to weld a nut onto the oil filter after becoming frustrated trying to change his own vehicle's oil one late weekday night.
The renowned K&N filtering quality of the oil filter itself is almost relegated to being just an added bonus compared to the filter case's nut. Actually, it is comforting to know the K&N is installed when the usual events of everyday life make you realize you're a couple thousand miles over the scheduled oil and filter change maintenance. Also, it's Made in the USA!!! Man, I'd rather spend three times the money on a product made by Americans or at least folks trying to keep our own country running. Thank you K&N for keeping it made here in the USA!

                Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

K & N are known for their premium filtration products. This oil filter complements their air-filter lineup.
It is a wrench off canister oil filter design utilizes many racing technologies. These filters are rated at 99 percent efficiency while providing and maintaining the ability to deliver the needed unrestricted high oil flow. These oil-filters have the added bonus of a one inch nut welded to the canister design providing a simple removal point for close clearance locations or for standardization of oil-filter removal tools. Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

I use one of these on my Dodge Nitro. Mainly because of the hex welded to the end. The awkward position of the oil filter on that vehicle makes it a pain in the A#$ to change. Having the hex on the end makes it a bit easier b/c you can get a socke with an extension on it to remove/install it.

Hi there Jilte, happy to help! This oil filter features high quality filter media that is more than enough to handle the use of synthetic oil and its service intervals, that are usually higher than the traditional 3 thousand miles. Our Mobil1 and Royal Purple filters are actually directly comparable to the K&N Filter.

                        Mad Dog,

This oil filter, like most K & N products, provides high flow capability. The high flow comes with the trade-off of efficiency or performance. This filter may be a little overkill for a high mileage auto given the cost of the unit. I would expect oil pressure to be equal to almost any other at all the given oil change life-stages.
