Check Vehicle Fit

Originally developed for demanding race applications, K&N's Premium Wrench-Off Oil Filter has become a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. Most of our automotive and marine oil filters come with a 1 inch nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The drilled hole on the nut provides for safety wire attachment. Our oil filters also use a resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration.

Product Features:
  • O/E replacement oil filters for most cars, trucks, SUV's, motorcycles, & ATV's
  • Resin-impregnated filter media traps 99% of harmful contaminants
  • 1 inch exposed nut designed for easy oil filter removal
  • Heavy duty construction for extreme conditions
  • Anti-drainback valve (where applicable) eliminates dry starts, prevents oil from draining back into crankcase during engine shutdown

    Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

The 1" hex nut welded on the filter top is invaluable. It is almost impossible to get a wrench onto my filter from the side; the hex nut on the filter top makes it so easy. The hex nut is tough; I've never seen a hint of flex or damage. The hex nut allows use of a torque wrench to install the filter; this is more important on some cars than others.

I run this filter in a 07 Scion Tc with 10psi boost and 50 shot of nitrous. High flow design allows my Royal Purple XPR to circulate properly throughout the engine. 100k on the engine, burns no oil, full power, always used RP and K&N.

              Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

These filters are easy to install and remove. They seems to hold up very well for 6-7k miles, which is my oil change interval. I have read reviews and done few hours of research and they all make sense. If you are using synthetic oil then this is a good choice for a filter, but they are pretty expensive.

As with all oil change intervals, follow the auto manufactuers instructions. Usually from 3000 to 5000 miles. Some oil and fliter companies state that you can go much longer because their synthetic oil does not break down as fast. My opinion is that your oil does not have time to break down before you change it. It does, however get "dirty" with contaminates from engine combustion. I change my oil every 3000 miles. My stance is that oil is cheaper than engine repair. Why not be on the safe side?

                    A:

I personally recommend going no more than 5,000 or 6,000 if you are using synthetic oil. If you are using basic oil, I recommend every 3,000.
