Check Vehicle Fit

Originally developed for demanding race applications, K&N's Premium Wrench-Off Oil Filter has become a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. Most of our automotive and marine oil filters come with a 1 inch nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The drilled hole on the nut provides for safety wire attachment. Our oil filters also use a resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration.

Product Features:
  • O/E replacement oil filters for most cars, trucks, SUV's, motorcycles, & ATV's
  • Resin-impregnated filter media traps 99% of harmful contaminants
  • 1 inch exposed nut designed for easy oil filter removal
  • Heavy duty construction for extreme conditions
  • Anti-drainback valve (where applicable) eliminates dry starts, prevents oil from draining back into crankcase during engine shutdown

I have seen the reviews and the K&N is the best. I like to change my own oil and this filter is easiest to remove with a 1 inch socket. With the highest quality filtration, oil stays clear longer. The case is heavy and the innards are well made. You only have to cut one in half to see the difference, if you want to waste one, that is. With the K&N you could theoretically go longer between oil changes, although I do not like to do this. The K&N is expensive, but for a few dollars more, you have the best oil filtration, and combined with synthetic oil will help your engine to perform better and last longer.

I went to K&N oil filters based on the name - I have purchased these filters for my 2007 Toyota Tacoma Pre-runner V6. Some Filters fit some don't - trouble is it is the same filer. If the filter comes wrap in plastic in the box it will not fit, if the filter is not in plastic it does fit. What I mean by not fitting is the filter will not spin on, it is like it has stripped threads. I will not buy again.

Cramped engine bay in Landrover Evoque makes it difficult to use traditional filter wrench, the nut makes it simple.

2003 Toyota Tacoma, in England no K & N filters there. So we ordered one for our son. I need a recharge kit for him but they won't ship it.
I will need to order more for future oil changes. Any discount??

We drive a lot of miles, do a lot of oil changes and have never had an oil filter with bad threads on it..... till now. I suppose it is possible that I got the only one with bad threads.

              Comments about K&N Oil Filter:

This is my first time using this filter. After not being able to remove my Motorcraft filter with the wrench I had, I figured this was a nice idea. The 1" socket makes it eas to give the proper 3/4 turn past hand tight. It will make it super easy to replace next time around. I am not sure if the insides will be anything speical and really it does not matter as I change the filter as recommened. I assume it will last at least that long. If changing every 7,500K as the book recommends I would assume most filters would work.

You could theoretically go for 7000 miles with this. It depends on your vehicle, and how much you can afford to take best care of it. If it is an old junker that you are going to get rid of soon, then OK. Best advice: Always change the filter with the oil change.
