Comments about JB Weld Stik Epoxy Putty (2 oz.):

The exhaust pipe on my 2006 Cadillac XLR-V was rubbing against the aluminum transmission fluid pan and created a tiny hole that was weeping transmission fluid. I wiped it clean with paint thinner and applied a thick patch of JB Weld Stick Epoxy. The repair was on a vertical surface and the stick putty stayed in place and did not flow off the repair while it was setting up. Just inspected the repair after 6 months and it is as good as new.

i used this product on my 5th wheel trailer.were the drain is for the hot water tank.through winterizing the water left sitting in that cabinet started a rust problem.i left it to long at first iwas putting grease in the area the water sat.did that for years.suddenly there was a rust through.thought of jp weld give it a try i had used it on a oold van i owned with a rusting out oil pan.so i was sure it would work here.like i said i had greased the area and knew i needed to clean that grease of the area i wanted to put the jb weld on.took some brake cleaner and sprayed that area, waited a few minuets and started applying the jb weld.it was a tight area to work in but after kneading two packages.the whole area was covered and no more hole visible.great stuff only down fall as much as it sticks to oily and rusty surfaces it also sticks to your fingers.you need to wash up several times while doing a job.

i used it to plug a leaky weld on my exhaust, checked it after 4o miles, and it's holding strong, no more steam showing, and no more moisture dripping from the weld! (Steam and moisture because it's cold outside right now), oh and no more spitting noise from the air flowing thru the leak! Awesome product!

Comments about JB Weld Stik Epoxy Putty (2 oz.):

Needed to repair the bottom of a rusty gas tank on a Chevy 3500 while on the truck and partially filled with gas. Gas was streaming out. Brushed off the rust (carefully) and kneaded up a round 1.5" patch of J-B Stik. Pushed it onto the gas covered tank in the largest hole 3/8 in. dia. Used my gas covered fingers to push the edges flush to the tank. Stuck to the tank. After several applications, streaming gas stopped and eventually the bottom of the tank was dry. This was all done overhead on a rusty fuel tank bottom in wet gasoline. After a year, it is still holding. I carry a new Stik in my hunting truck.

Is this JB product good enough to repair a cracked car rear bumper cover (a type of plastic)? If so, how many I need it to cover longer than 10 inch crack?

Hi Charley, I will be happy to help you with the question you had. You can use it on a rear bumper. I would suggest using it on the inside of the bumper. JB Weld comes out dark gray/black in terms of color and may not match your current paint job. For a 10 inch crack I would start off 2 tubes, how much you get out of it will be dependent on how thick you put the epoxy on.

This JB Weld Stik Epoxy Putty (2 oz.) - Part No. 8267-S can withstand a constant temperature of 500º F. The maximum temperature threshold is approximately 600º F for a short term (10 minutes). Because of the extreme temperatures of exhaust systems, we do not recommend J-B Weld for use on exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Nor do we recommend the product for repairs within the combustion chamber. However, in areas where the continuous temperature is less than 450º F.
