Had a starter bolt on my '95 F-150 that the head was partially rounded off by previous owner. This fine tool finished the job. Now it is completely rounded off and I'm on my way to buy a die-grinder cut-off blade to get the job done. Don't believe the hype. If you have a bolt that is a little rusty and can't get to it straight on to apply pressure while you are trying to turn it, FORGET IT. This tool is not going to work.

I had stripped out a hex head cap screw. One of these socket wrenches gripped the outside of the socket perfectly. I was able to remove the bolt without further problems.

It's a good toolset to remove rusty bolts and nuts. I used to remove catalytic converter nut on Honda Civic. It did the job well. I did use a torch to heat up the nut and then I applied the irwin socket to remove it.

Comments about Irwin Bolt Out with Case:

While working on my Tacoma 4x4, I rounded off on of the 14mm bolts holding the lower ball joint. I initially tried some Craftsman bolt removers - but those things were worthless compared to the Irwin ones here. My only complaint is these bolt outs are for 3/8 drive instead of 1/2 in drive. No problem though, I put a 1/2 to 3/8 drive converter on my cordless impact and put the Irwin 14mm bolt out on the rounder bolt. One quick burst with the impact got the bolt loose and caused me rejoice!

Comments about Irwin Bolt Out with Case:

This product saved me today. I rounded off a nut on the front exhaust pipe of my Saturn and thought I was doomed. I looked on YouTube and found a similar product for $180. This set was recommended by the sales clerk and was lot less expensive. Ordered on line and saved $4.50 off the list price. I used the 1/2-13mm. The only thing I would suggest is placing the socket in a lager socket for a deep drive effect. Also strike the socket a couple of times with a light hammer so it grips tight. Once I did that, the impact wrench did the rest. This set is a welcomed addition to my garage tools!

I attempted to use this tool on a stripped oil drain plug. It wasn't completely stripped, but this tool helped me to completely strip it. I ended up doing what I should have done all along and used a small pipe (monkey wrench) which worked like a charm. I should have saved myself the money, I hope Advance will take this set back, as I'll never even try to use it again.

This product removed a totally rounded 1995 F150 starter bolt when no other product I tried would remove the bolt. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this product. Other big box stores offer a similar product (with no warranty), however I recommend this product due to the warranty and the superior quality. My only regret is that I did not buy the corresponding expansion set. EXCELLENT PRODUCT !!!
