Comments about CARQUEST by Intermotor Ignition Coil:

I drive a 200 Nissan Maxima and I would strongly recommend you avoid this. I have been through 3 of these coils versus replacing one with the Nissan coil. Also to clarify a retort: I did change location of the new coil to ensure it was just a coil malfunction. As stated by the other reviewer the ones marked as being made in Poland (will be denoted on the barcode sticker attached to the box)just do not last. One I installed went bad one day later. The Nissan coil is more and usually they only stock one, but it is by far better and I am very cheap.

Comments about CARQUEST by Intermotor Ignition Coil:

Do not buy BWD Ignition Coils for Nissan Maxima's, especially if they box says they are Made in Poland.

I recently purchased one and while it cleared one problem, I still had a P1320 (0201) code. After weeks of troubleshooting and buying more BWD coils to see if more than one coil was defective, I concluded that it was the NEW BWD coil that was causing the problem. I put all my old coils back and bought one OEM Nissan coil. Installed it and my problem was solved. If I had just bought it originally, I would have saved myself a LOT of effort.

      • Q:

Is there a way to determine if the coil is bad? My infinity i30 is miss-firing and after checking over and over again, it seems that while in the dark, a spark light comes out of module somewhere. I can't define the exact location where the light comes from. Can I ohm the module? Please help. Thanks.

          A:

With out the presence of your vehicle we would not be able to properly diagnose it. We would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
