Comments about CARQUEST by Intermotor Ignition Coil:

Bought 4 of these coils for my sisters 2005 Honda Civic as part of a tune up. Her 7-8 yr old (original)coils were fine but I replaced them with these as her car had high mileage as preventative maintenence. Well, in less than 9 months 3 out of 4 fail. Very disappointed with this product, buyer beware this is junk. Also after 90 days AAP will only replace coils with the same junk, now why would i ever do that again? I went with oem honda, you should too, save yourself a headache.

Hi John, I'm glad to help you! The part number for the rubber boot on the Ignition Coil - Part No. E420 is #SPB217. But, this is not sold on AdvanceAutoParts.com. I recommend checking with your local store for availability.

        • Q:

My 2001 honda civic becomes hard to start when it is hot. Takes 2-3 times ,then starts . could the ignition coils be bad?
Asked on 8/5/2012 by Ray from brigantine,NJ

          1 answer

          • CUSTOMER CARE

            A:

The ignition coil may be the possible cause of the problem. However, I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
