      A:

This BWD/Intermotor Canister Purge Solenoid part# CP507 should be located above the rear cross member, in front of the fuel tank, in the EVAP canister, above the rear of the muffler on your 2003 Toyota Camry. A purge canister solenoid is typically connected in series between a charcoal canister and the intake manifold of an automotive engine. The charcoal canister and purge valve on your Toyota RAV4 should be located under the brake master cylinder. You can see it as a few green valve caps and a valve attached to it.

  • Q:

For a 1997 Toyota Camry V6. The codes that were detected were P0401 and P0446. I was told that the charcoal canister, VSV valve, and the EGR valve all needed to be replaced. As well as the EGR vaccum switch valve. Is this Canister Purge Solenoid one of the right parts? Are there any recommendations as to what part to start with first? Thank you, for any help you can offer.

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.

  • Q:

I have a 2000 Toyota Camry with the V6 motor and 89,000 miles. The engine light came on and I am getting a P0446 code. I replaced the gas cap, but the light is still "on". The parts guy said that the canister purge solenoid (p/n CP507) is the most likley problem, so I am going to replace it. But, where is it? And, anything trickey about the replacement procedure? Thanks
