This part was for a my daughter's 2002 Honda CIVIC LX. The air quit working one day. So I checked the usual fuses and other relative easy checks. No luck. So I searched on line for common problems. If there is a common problem someone has posted on how to fix it. One common problem was this motor resistor. One way to check it is to solder a bridge across the thermistor to bypass it. Sure enough that was the problem. Everything worked as it should. So I ordered the part and replaced it the next day. Some people just leave in the bypass or solder in a 1 Ohm resistor. I was not willing to chance it and the part was not to expensive and was easy to get to so it was replaced.

AC went out in my Honda. Every website said this was probably the part I needed. Replaced the original with this part and AC still didn't work. Tried the replacing the blower motor, the relay, etc. No luck. Gave up and took it to the dealer. Dealer said I had the right part but it was defective. Figures, it was made in China. That [$] part ended up costing me $250 and an entire day wasted trouble-shooting. Advanced, consider a new supplier for your after-market parts.

Worked for 2002 CR-V

Comments about CARQUEST by Intermotor Blower Motor Resistor:

I have a 2002 Honda CR-V. Blower stopped blowing air on a hot day. Compressor would still try and turn on. Would not blow cold air or hot air. No air was coming out of vents at all. Fuses were good. This fixed it. Replacing it was a little tricky getting to the left screw. You need a short stubby philips screwdriver.

Bought, replaced oem unit that had been trouble free for 128,000 miles. Didn't survive 48 hours. Won't buy again. Will fix the OEM originally installed or get an OEM replacement.

Worked without a problem to fix the blower short as described on the internet. I'm not sure you need to spend the extra $$ for an OEM part.

Every website claims that this is the cheapest available resistor for a 2002-05 Civic Si hatchback. It is entirely too large. The one you need is the one with the staggered fins that is over $120.

AC quit working, no compressor. All indications online pointed to this part. Decided to take on as a DIY project. Some dash panels needed to be removed for access and a right angle screw driver was mandatory. Replaced it, wire it up, put the panels back together and the AC worked!

My AC broke all of a sudden. Diagnostic showed the resistor was dead. Ordered the part, changed it in 15 minutes and voila! My AC blows again. So far, this part did the trick and saved me hundreds.
