Did not seal the leak that I had in my Air Conditioning system. I installed the stop leak and then inspected for the red dye all over the vehicle. The dye is hard to find when inspecting on the vehicle, because when it is on any metal on the vehicle it does not stand out very much and it just looks like there is some oil on it as opposed to the red dye. I put this stuff in and it lasted about three days before the air conditioning stopped working again. I will need to get some of the fluorescent dye so I can find the leak.

Comments about Interdynamics R-134a Stop Leak Detector and Sealer (3 oz.):

Had small leak in my ac system. Tried UV dyes, only to find UV dye everywhere. Used the stop leak, red dye, and Ac system is still blowing cold after 1 week. Will update if I have any problems.

After trying several different products and 2 yrs with no AC, I saw this online and since it was inexpensive thought I would give it a try. You will need a hose/gauge combo that will pierce the can lid. I bled off some of the old dead pressure in the system 1st. I used 2 cans of this and 1 1/2 cans of reg 134a and so far, for a month now my AC is working great! No signs of any leaks and the pressure is staying up. I have my AC back!! :)

A/C Stopped pumping cold air. The clutch would kick in then eventually turn off. Thought I'd try this as it's cheap, and it worked! Pressure stays constant so the clutch stays engaged! Been two weeks so far and no issues!

At the beginning of summer my ac was dead, I filled the coolant and it was low again within a week. I put one can in of this, let it sit a day, and then refilled the coolant. That was 2 weeks ago and the coolant has not moved at all, still full.
Great low-cost fix in these days of high cost car repairs. I love it!!!

There was leakage in my A/C system but I could not find where leakage was occured. After inserting this, my concerning was removed. It was very easy to use it if you have inserting units for R-134a which can be got in [...] easy. I used couple of these leak stops and one more general R-134a 16oz. It works great.

Hi Rick, glad to help! The Stop Leak & Detector (LDS-1) has both leak sealer (for rubber components) and red dye to help you spot the location of any larger leaks that are too big to seal and require replacement.

It will require only one hose to install. A simple hose with the required fittings is available at most auto supply stores. Some level of knowledge using this equipment is recommended. Eye protection should be used.

You will also need a "can tapper" valve which attaches the pressurized can to the hose. Tapper valves must match the top of the can (threaded or clamp-on).
