Good Stuff!

Just remember that most Compressors come charged, be careful not to add to much oil.

This is not DEC (double end capped) PAG oil. Ford recommends ONLY DEC PAG46 in their compressors. Uncapped or single-end capped oils absorb moisture which can lead to the formation of acids inside the refrigerant system, causing corrosion from within, leading to system leaks, possible catastrophic compressor failure ('black death')

Replaced a 2007 Honda Civic compressor. This did the trick. It would be nice if they put a measuring line in ounces on the side to gauge how much you've put in.

Well it is just oil, but you need it if you don't want your system to fail. It is best to add the oil before you install the parts. Found out the hard way. I took the compressor off again and added the oil but the accumulator was just a piece of pvc pipe and a funnel. I was not doing that again! Add oil then install the parts is much easier. Better to add this at the start, instead of having your parts fail and not be covered under warranty and have to buy the parts again. $10 saving is not worth having to do this again!

Hi Big bob, glad to help you! You will need 9 oz of R-134a PAG 46 refrigerant oil. However, when it comes to repair and maintenance it is always recommended referring the vehicle owner's manual for the exact specifications to get better and safer results.

Hi Azrichie, happy to help you! This Interdynamics R-134a PAG 46 Refrigerant Oil (8 oz.) (Part No. GPL-5) is an exact fit for your 2004 Nissan Maxima. It is suggested to add 2.3 fl oz/60cc of oil to the compressor after it has been drained. Adding this PAG Oil when you already have already filled the compressor will put you over and can possibly cause damage to the compressor.

Is this oil of the double end cap variety specified for my 2006 Ford Ranger? I'm planning on changing all of the o-rings (that I can get to) and the drier since I just bought the truck and the freon was low, and I read it takes this special type of PAG-46 oil.

Adding this PAG Oil when you already have already filled the compressor will put you over and can possibly cause damage to the compressor. If you suspect you still have a leak we suggest using Part No 376CS. This is just dye and wont affect your oil level. This can be added by a AC shop or a mechanic with the proper AC gauges.

Happy to answer your question Tony! Typically the PAG oil is added from the ports in the compressor, there is also a fitting/hose for it if you have a set of professional ac gauges. If you don't have access a mechanic or a a/c shop could assist with doing this.

Glad to assist, SE! By replacing the condenser only you would only need to add 1oz of oil, now if you actually purchase the A/ C Pro Professional Formula Refrigerant with Gauge and Hose (Part No. ACP-100N/ACP-10) it actually has 3 Oz of oil in it so no additional oil would be needed.
