I will be recovering the refrigerant on my 03 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7liter so i can run a vacuum and get the air out of my system. I'm happy to help, Chris! This product may work in your 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L V8. I suggest following your manufacturer's recommendations when replacing the oil and refrigerant. Mopar recommends the use of UV dye to help detect leaks in the system. Your vehicle should use 6 oz. of PAG46 refrigerant oil and this Interdynamics R-134a First Charge with ICE32 does not indicate the viscosity of the oil.
Tracer Products PAG46 oil with dye (Part No. TRATD46P8) will meet that requirement and have two additional ounces. You also need 30 oz. of R-134a for your vehicle. If you use the oil with dye then you can use Advance Auto Parts Part No. A1300, which will also leave you with an additional 6 oz.
If you prefer to get oil that has the ICE32 additive you could purchase either 2 cans of Part No. PC-1 or 1 can of Part No. GPL-5 and have 2 oz leftover. You could then use a refrigerant such as Part No. 334 and you will have some leftover refrigerant with this as well.Answered on 8/14/2014 by Heath, ASE Parts Specialist from AAP
