Comments about Interdynamics Oil and Fuel Systems UV Dye (1 oz.):

Used to find a fuel leak on my 2007 Cobalt. Went in easy and let the car run for a few minutes to work in the system. Couldn't see the dye at first then waited till night and it lit up just as advertised.

Hi there Race! Happy to help! For this dye you would do 1 oz to 8 pints (4 quarts) for automatic transmission fluid. 1 oz for 5 quarts of motor oil, and 1 oz for 5 gallons of fuel so for 14 gallons you would need 3 ounces of the dye.

              A:

I'm happy to help, Jmo69! The Interdynamics Oil and Fuel Systems UV Dye (Part No. 374CS) is not recommended for use with synthetic oil. At this time there is not a UV dye available through AdvanceAutoParts.com that is compatible with synthetic motor oil. You may check with your local store to see if they may be able to locate or recommend a UV dye that is compatible with synthetic motor oils.

              A:

This Interdynamics Oil and Fuel Systems UV Dye (1 oz.) -(Part No. 374CS) should stay until it become too diluted with the oil and the exact time depends on the speed of the leak. An engine with slower leaks will take more time to detect than with faster leaks.
