My system stopped taking the freon at about 37 psi, so that is where I left it .... in the blue Filled zone on the gauge. Chart on can said to shoot for about 50 psi with temperature adjustment, but I have learned from experience to charge until more presses on trigger no longer move gauge dial. System had shown bubbles in sight window, initial pressure reading was 17 psi, so can more than doubled pressure with some 40% of freon still available in can. Like being able to reuse the product, old R-12 cans were a one-shot deal, lots of waste. Remember when consumers couldn't even buy the new R-134 for home install, very little gas escapes during this process. The connect valve is a great design, pull back outer ring and release when fully on low pressure side (Blue Cap) valve. No leaks at connection during process. I shook can, then pressed trigger, hard to do both simultaneously with hose length. Very chilly A/C now!! Make sure hose is firmly connected to can male thread, but plastic threads, do not over-tighten!

Plastic Nozzle Broke on First Use While Attaching Gauge

By

Pros

  • Task Completed

Cons

  • Broke Upon First Use
  • Can't Be Calibrated

Best Uses

Comments about Interdynamics EZ Chill R-134a Refrigerant Plus Oil with Leak Sealer (18 oz.):

I ordered the refrigerant online for pickup in store. This part worked very well as the order was ready upon my arrival. When I went to attach the pressure gauge to the can nozzle, the plastic cap (which was supposed to hold the gauge to the can) split into two pieces, which made it impossible to attach the gauge to the can. However, I was able to hold the gauge to the can with sufficient force to allow me to refill the coolant without too much leakage. Although I was able to accomplish my task with this product, it was not without difficulty. Also, the gauge is not able to be calibrated based on the ambient temperature, unlike other models of this product type.

I had most of an older can with the install guage/hose. Filled a 2011 Honda Accord and it seemed to work fine, but the pressure reading was a little low (just over 25 pounds). I bought new same product and when I went to increase pressure, it was already about 33 pounds according to the new guage??? Other than that, it did the job and I've got cold AC.

This never left the parking lot. Quick connector would not go onto the fitting on my truck. The store employee told me that almost everyone has that problem with this brand. Had to return it right there and purchase the more expensive brand that worked perfectly.

Hi Steff, glad to assist you! The pressure should be 45-55 psi (310-379 kPa) on the low. 225-250 psi (1551-1724 kPa) on the high. However, when it comes to repair and maintenance it is always recommended referring the vehicle owner's manual for the exact specifications to get better and safer results.
