My A/C was running warm out of the vents around 45-50 degrees. Using this i saw I had a low psi right around 25psi, with a quick recharge from this can following the directions I brought pressures back up to 32-35psi and A/C tems down near 32deg.

Easy way to refill and boost your A/C's performance.

Refrigerant itself is good; attached gauge, not so much.

The entire gauge (made of what looks like brass) popped off the hose during regular use, hitting me in the mouth (and rendering the rest of the can unusable as the missing gauge caused a leak). No real damage done, but the risk is there. Store manager mentioned it was the third such broken one he's seen.

While similar at first glance, a closer look reveals that the gauge in the Arctic Freeze recharge kit is visibly less fragile than the one included here as the plastic "window" holding it in is not as easily detached.

Quickly and easily charged up the AC in my 2004 Impreza WRX. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. AC is now blowing cold air like when car was new.

Comments about Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant with Reusable Dispenser and Gauge (18 oz.):

After spending 3 hours of trying to add this freon to 3 vehicles, I saw no change in colder air on any of them.
I read and followed the product's instructions verbatim, got on YouTube, and even talked to the company, but could not get any of the cars to produce colder air. Before adding freon to each vehicle, I started the engine, turned the AC on highest level, kept doors open (so that the AC compressor ran continuously, verified the compressor clutch was engaged and running all time, would stop every 12-15 secs and gently shake and turn the bottle (from 12 to 3), but no change on getting ANY colder air. I used most of the freon (about 75%) on just two cars and out of frustration added on the 3rd car. AFTER 3 hours and ~$39 I got nowhere. In the whole process there were no mishaps - freon bottle was perfectly sealed and after screwing on the gauge to the bottle I proceeded to fill. Ambient temp was around 80 degrees. The pressure was below the green bar on the gauge and moved very-very little to the right while filling. Vehicles are: 2001 Ford Ranger, 2009 Altima, and 2013 Camry. Prior to adding freon, the Ranger was giving just cool air (not cold); the Altima a little colder air, and the Camry was ok although not great. How can it be that me and my wife felt/noticed no change on ALL 3 cars? Did I just pump in air? It's a mystery!

About 8 months ago had a mechanic add freon at a cost of about $160.00. Freon is gone now and didn't want to spend as much. Decided to use this product. Am glad I did. Now my car runs cold air once more. Haven't checked for leaks yet but am happy with results.

                        A:

With reference to your inquiry on the Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant with Reusable Dispenser and Gauge (18 oz.) - part# AF-1, the A/C system has to be charged through the low pressure port. The low-pressure port of the AC system usually has a blue or black dust cap and is located either on the larger diameter metal tubing typically found between the evaporator and compressor, on the compressor itself, or on the receiver drier (orifice tube systems only). The high-pressure service port is found either on the smaller diameter tubing or the compressor and is larger in diameter. However, it is advised that a Section 609 of EPA Standards mechanic be the only one to perform anything with that type of system [r12] as well as r134a due to its effects on the environment. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified A/C mechanic for a proper diagnosis. We have a 2001 Chrysler Voyager LX van . The blue adapter fits on the low pressure port, but it will not stay on. When depressing the handle the coolant leaks all over. It doesn't seem to be long enough to depress the metal piece on the port or snap on tightly, hence we cannot use it. Please give advice. Thanks.

Sorry for any inconvenience caused. As with all quick-connect fittings, you have to pull back the collar on the fitting, push the fitting onto the port, and then release the collar in the Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant with Reusable Dispenser and Gauge (18 oz.) - Part No. AF-1. And if the refrigerant is leaking from low side adapter (blue cap), raise adapter until refrigerant stops leaking. A:

Air conditioning is a closed system and the only reason you will ever need to add refrigerant is if the system has developed a leak. There is no way of knowing how long it may take to develop a leak since there are lots of potential causes of leaks. Most causes are mechanical in nature and would mean that the system was damaged in some way. Some leaks can be caused by seals deteriorating over time, and again, there is no way of knowing how long that may take. Just get it diagnosed by a certified technician with all the right training, tools and facilities and you will hopefully be good for even years.

Do you take a reading on the gauge when you are putting the freon in or when you have stopped (depressing the trigger or not depressing the trigger)?

I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not (solve/be) the problem.
