Pricey but works well.

I had a slow leak in my Chrysler T&C and I put in two cans of product. That was about three weeks ago and it is still cooling well.

Comments about Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant (12 oz.):

I am normally a budget buyer, but I purchased this brand last year for a vehicle that would lose it's coldness too quickly. This refrigerant might have worked too good. I added a little too much and the compressor had difficulty handling the load. I figured no problem, the system leaks anyway so I'll just wait until some of it leaks out and then I'll have the right amount. Well the system did not leak after I installed this Arctic Freeze so I had to manually remove some of the refrigerant to get the A/C system to work optimally. After the impressive performance I experienced from it last year, I was not hesitant to spend the extra money for it this year for use in a couple other vehicles.

When adding the refrigerant the gauge doesn't come up very quickly with one full, 19 oz., can. If I continue with an second can and assuming there are no leaks and nothing else wrong with system will th pressure begin to come up more rapidly?

I'm happy to help, Gracey! All of the refrigerant recharge marked with Arctic Freeze R-134a+ should include the Ultra Synthetic label. Interdynamics makes a majority of these recharge kits, such as A/C Pro, Sub Zero, Arctic Freeze and Big Chill. There should be no problem using this recharge in your A/C System with the previous refrigerant. If you are having a problem with needing to recharge frequently, I suggest having a certified HVAC mechanic diagnose the vehicle. If you need help locating one, try our 'Need expert help?' link located further down this page.

                              A:

Turn on the vehicle and put the air conditioning on its maximum setting. Open the release valve from the recharge kit. Monitor the gauges to make sure that you do not overfill your vehicle's air conditioning system. For an R-134 system, the high side pressure should show 2.2 to 2.5 times the ambient temperature, according to the Aircondition website. At 70 degrees, the high side should read 154 to 175 pounds per square inch (PSI). The acceptable pressure can vary with humidity and heat load. A reading of 30 PSI is considered a good pressure for the low side. Pressure and temperature are related, and 30 PSI means the evaporator is about at the freezing point of water. It is important to watch the gauges because you will not be recharging a completely refrigerant-free air conditioning system, there will still be some left from the previous recharge. For any further assistance please feel free to call 1-877-238-2623 and one of our representatives will gladly assist you with any questions or concerns you may have.

                              A:

No, there is no need to add any oil or lubricant with this Interdynamics Arctic Freeze Ultra Synthetic R-134a Refrigerant (12 oz.) with Part No. AF-3. This Arctic Freeze product also contain Acid Neutralizers, Leak Sealers and O-Ring Conditioners and so there is no need to add any other lubricant. The active chemistry in Arctic Freeze® Ultra allows R-134a refrigerant to carry more heat. When it reaches the evaporator in a vehicle’s A/C system, the active chemistry causes the R-134a to come out of the solution and increases the system’s cooling capacity, which means your car cools faster rate. Arctic Freeze® contains R-134a refrigerant and is compatible in all R-134a systems.

Underneath the hood on your Nissan Maxima there should be a blue or green sticker. That sticker will state how much freon and oil to put into the system.

If your A/C system is a R134a system this should work on it.

do you need to reduce the amount of refrigerant already in the system to add this product?

It is better to fresh the system while replacing the refrigerant.
