Comments about Imperial Transmission Oil Cooler Reinstallation Kit:

I tried to use this hose to replace a section I cut off of a transmission line, in order to remove my old radiator. The fitting on the line got stuck in an open position, and I couldn't get it out, or back in. I couldn't drive the car because it would leak.

After putting the hose on with the new fitting that came in the kit, the fluid still runs from around both ends of the nut on the new fitting. Not sure what I did wrong, but this product didn't solve my problem.

They did not actually ahve teh kit when i got this so the erverice rep just made teh order up from bits off the shelf. The clips and hose was all the right size for my install on my 1995 legacy.

Comments about Imperial Transmission Oil Cooler Reinstallation Kit:

Does not mate with present transmission lines or B&M Transcooler. Fittings way undersize. Recommended for my car online purchase, but not compatible with transcooler. Generic and not compatible with my vehicle.

So how does this work? Do you slide the hose over the shaft of the fitting, and then clamp it down? This only comes with one fitting?

              A:

Hi Deej, happy to help! You can line the hoses up with the two disconnected transmission lines. If you have mounted the cooler horizontally, ideally, the top hose should go to the transmission line and the bottom one should go to the radiator. Then you can slip the hose clamps onto these hoses.

              A:

I'm happy to help, David! This Imperial Transmission Oil Cooler Reinstallation Kit (Part No. 248002) will definitely contain components to help you fix the leak. You may not require all of the parts in this kit for your 2001 Ford Explorer. If the hose is the only part that has failed, you could purchase just the hose with Imperial Part No. 248001. Typically, the hose clamps can be reused. If you are unable to reuse the hose clamps, Autocraft Carbon Housing Micro-Gear Hose Clamps (Part No. AC5202V) are available as well.

When you replace the line you may lose some automatic transmission fluid (ATF). Your vehicle uses Mercon V and Advance Auto Parts carries many brands including our house brand, Part No. A102.
