Comments about Imperial Transmission Oil Cooler Hose:

I purchased my radiator from Advance also. Thankfully it came with universal fittings for the Transmission cooler hose line. The factory molded hose was seized up on fitting at radiator and not reuseable. This hose kit worked perfectly as a replacement for my 98 Jeep 4.0L

I purchased this after I found a leak in my transmission cooler line on my Grand Cherokee. The dealer only supplied the entire part for over one hundred bucks whereas I only needed the tube. I cut this to size and it's the exact thickness as the OEM. The tube is cheap and got the job done. The leak is gone but most of the money is still in my wallet.

                      A:

Hi Randy, great question! For connecting the transmission hose to the metal line, flare the steel line before slipping on the rubber hose, it helps to keep the hose from blowing off. Cut your old lines in an easy area to get to, use a tubing cutter, slip on the compression fitting, and tighten it, then slide your rubber hose over the barbed end and clamp it on.

I don't have a second jack to support my engine while doing the timing chain. Can I attach one end of this to the ceiling in my garage and tie another end to my engine to support it? Would it work any better if I filled it with transmission fluid first? Thanks!
