I can't comment on the performance because I won't be installing it. The online store said this was an exact fit for my 2003 VW Jetta. I don't know who wrote the description because obviously they never tried to install it in a VW. There is no way to mount this fan to the existing mounting location behind the radiator. The OEM fan mounts in the center with 3 bolts. This mounts around the perimeter. Also it is a single speed fan, when the VW fan is a 2-speed with a three plug connector. I am not happy. This will be going back to the store tomorrow!

I purchased this fan for my '09 Ford Flex since the dual cooling fans went out. I bought 2 of these 14" fans and the $40 adjustable controller. They are simply to install (attached thru radiator fins) and simple to wire. They take the place of the stock fans/shroud/controller assembly.

Installed this on a Dodge B2500 Van's condenser to increase air flow when sitting in traffic. Very easily connected to the condenser and dropped A/C vent temps 12 degrees while sitting still.

I am thinking about using this as a replacement fan for the electric AC condenser fan on a 2001 Dodge Durango. Will this work to replace that or will i have to spend 2.5 times more for a OE type fan?

On my 2002 4 cyl jeep wrangler TJ I have a belt drven fan but was thinking about switching to an electric.
1; will this fan adequately move enough air to cool my engine by itself?
2; In the description it mentions 2 ctrl needed. What exactly is it talking about?
3; will I need another cowling to use this fan or even need a cowling with it mounted tightly to the radiator?

Hello Off roader! I do not recommend replacing a fan clutch with an electric fan as problems can arise. The 14 inch electric fan will not likely move enough air to adequately cool the vehicle application. A fan controller is typically needed to run the fan when needed.Answered on 1/21/2015 by Solomon

I'm happy to help, Bubbles! If you could please provide the year and engine size of your Chevrolet 2500 HD pickup truck we can assist with more specific information. From the trucks I used for for the search I found that this Imperial Electric Fan - 14" diameter (Part No. 226114) is designed to supplement your existing engine fan. This can be helpful in when towing heavy loads to help keep your engine and transmission cool.
The fan is reversible for push or pull applications so it can be mounted on either side of the radiator. The best mounting position will also depend on the actual application. This only being a 14" fan would not adequately cool an engine in a heavy duty truck by itself. This would not make an ideal candidate for replacing your clutch fan.

No!! It will only run slow as you don't have 12 v. It will burn out`

I have a 1996 mercury cougar xr7 4.6 liter and this is my first experience with your company. This is the only fan showing as an exact fit for my car. The first question I have is will the existing 3 wire oem wiring harness fit into this fan and allow it to be controlled by the existing relay? If bought would I have been able to return it
Secondly and more importantly I notice the fan size is the same as the one I am temporarily using which is inadequate. The oem fan was 18". I seen the fine print saying 2 are required per vehicle but the funny thing is I dont have the space to install 2 of them. As already stated this is my first time considering your company for my needs and this discrepancy is not a good beginning. Hi Slamdstorm, I'm happy to help! You are absolutely correct, this electric fan is more like an universal fit part and not a OE equivalent. Infact most aftermarket radiator fans are universal and fit most cars. This is a 14" diameter fan and is from the family of Hayden auto's Rapid cool/Thin line electric fans.
