Comments about Hoppy Pod Brake Control:

Extremely easy to use. It's easy to set up. With the right tools and set up on your vehicle this can be a simple 10 minute job. I purchased the adapter harness part number 47715 and madecthecinsta that much quicker.

first one was a used unit placed into the new box. My local store did NOT have my online order pulled, even though I waited over 24 hrs to pick up. Once the unit was replaced, installation was simple.

    #47225 brake controller review

Comments about Hoppy Pod Brake Control:

I have the 13yr old version of this same #47225 in my '03 Suburban and has worked great all these years. I purchased an '04 3/4 ton Suburban and bought this controller but it was a newer version with the same part number. I installed according to the instructions and used their harness, could not get to work. No green light, would lock up brakes when pushing manual button to adjust brakes at 10mph, no brakes through brake pedal. Put 13 yr old unit in 3/4 ton truck on same harness and works perfectly. Took back to store and they game me another new unit to plug in and try and had same results. Either both units were bad out of box or they changed the internal wiring...don't know. I even tried relocating red wire to another position in plug for older trucks and nothing. Anyone experience this and have a fix, please post. Thanks!

Comments about Hoppy Pod Brake Control:

This brake controller is simple to install. Ford F-150s already have a terminal plug and come with the adapter harness so installation is just connecting a few wires at the work bench. Since this will only be used occasionally it was not permanently mounted in the truck but the included bracket attached easily to a cup holder adapter.

This brake controller is easy to use with just two buttons, one to adjust power to the brakes and one to apply the brakes manually. This is where the only complaint comes up as the LED indicator is under a semi-transparent black plastic cover and can be hard to see in bright sunlight.

Used with a two axle car hauler trailer it provides plenty of stopping power and a wide enough adjustment range to provided proper stopping power for empty and loaded conditions.

This brake control was a decent price, small and easy to install. We used it to tow a 5000lb trailer over 130 miles and back without any problems whatsoever.

I use this product for hauling horses/horse trailer. My dad was able to install this product and my husband and I traveled 600 miles on our first trip with this brake controller and had no complaints with it. Great product - I recommend it.

Happy to help, MELISSA! It comes equipped with a quick connector plug wired to the back of the controller. If your vehicle came equipped with a factory tow package, the brake control function wires may exist under the vehicle dash (usually found under the driver side dash).

                    • CUSTOMER CARE

                      A:

Hi Tommy, glad to assist you! The timer based unit starts applying brakes once the brake switch is made. The rate of brake application is based on a timer and the rate of application is the same regardless of the drivers brake application. The proportional units have a accelerometer in their circuitry. Once the brake switch is made, the energy applied to the trailer brakes is determined by the deceleration of the tow vehicle.
