Comments about Holley Electric Fuel Pump:

Installed on my '57 Chevy with a '69 350 V-8 with 4 bbl carb. Working great so far and not as loud as my previous fuel pump. Don't forget the fuel filters.

      • Q:

Concerning the Holley Electric Fuel pump (the red one), does this part come with the mounting bracket? What fuel filter comes with it, if any?

I have a 1971 Chevelle, 454 (bored .30/496) and would like to purchase this Fuel pump ASAP. I've heard good things and found no bad reviews about it.

        Thank you,

        Wally

          A:

I'm glad to assist, Wally! That sounds like an awesome car! This Holley Electric Fuel pump does include the mounting bracket. It does not include a fuel filter. Holley recommends a coarse screen type filter before the pump and a high quality filter after.

It sounds like you've done a lot of research on this project, I do need to inform you that the part is not indicated to fit your 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle 454 from AdvanceAutoParts.com. Holley does show it when looking for an electric fuel pump for your car, though. Good luck with your project!

        Hi,
I hace a Holley electrical fuel pump. What is the minimum distance between the pump and the exhaust system ?

        Thank you

          Steve,

          thank you for your mail.

Our car is a 78 Camaro with a HO 350 Smal Block (Appr. 500 DIN HP). To be seen on http://www.cryokillaz.de.

The Exhaust System is a 3" Flowmaster system with 2 Series 50 Delta Flow Mufflers (Two pipe system).

The distance now is 1"-2" away from the muffler which is, I guess, not enough.

I could put a heatshield in between, but I do not know wether it will work.

          Thank you and best ragards

      • Q:

I am going to replace my manual factory side-motor mounting mechanical pump with an electric one and a regulator so I can return fuel to the tank. My application is a 1981 chevy k30 with a 7.4 (454) gas engine with an aftermarket edelbrock performer intake and carb.
Should I use the red pump or the blue. I would opt for the blue one but it looks like the regulator only has one in and one out. Would I not need one in and two outs to do a return to the tank? Do you sell the blue pump without that regulator as I think the regulator I would need is the 12-704 with one in and two out ....one to carb and one to return line?

          A:

Hi Bobbyjupiter, good question! Both the Red and Blue line of Holley electric fuel pumps fits your 1981 Chevy K30. The Blue fuel pump does include the regulator 12-803. Per Holley, the regulator 12-704 comes with one 1/2" NPT inlet and two 1/2" NPT outlet ports. However this regulator is not available with the Blue Holley. I would recommend that you check with the nearest Advance store to check for any alternate availability of these products as a kit.

Hi bill, answering your question is a bit tricky! Though this part is an universal electric gasoline fuel pump, this really may need a mechanic’s expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.
