Comments about Highland 15 cu. ft. Rainproof Car-Top Bag with Storage Sack:

I used this in the bed of my truck which has a soft tonneau cover and I was concerned about having luggage in the bed with just the soft cover, which does let rain in around the sides. The cargo carrier fit 5 good size suitcases/duffel bags plus a few other items and there was room to spare. It zipped up tight, and everything inside was well protected. The price was great and the added security for the items inside was well worth what we paid for the bag. I am glad I got it, and will use it frequently on trips. It kept everything from sliding around back there, too, which was an added plus. As to the use of it on the rooftop, I cannot say as I did not use it that way! You would have to put it up there first though, because once the luggage is inside, it is way too heavy to lift. Also, all that heaviness directly n your roof is probably not good, so I think this is better if used with roofracks, rather than sitting right on the roof. Also, it did fold back up into the storage bag, which is great for keeping it when not in use.

Comments about Highland 15 cu. ft. Rainproof Car-Top Bag with Storage Sack:

When we were planning our trip, we found that we needed extra space, I looked into renting a car top carrier, but couldn't find one, then I researched buying one and found one at my local Advanced Auto Parts. At first it was noisy, but I took a couple of extra straps with me just in case and rapped around the sides of the unit tying all the carrier straps down and that made the unit quiet.

I bought this for after downsizing from a Van to an SUV and it was HORRIBLE!! The first tie down strap tore completely off the bag the very FIRST time we put it on our car!! Having no choice, we strapped it down with rope for added support and it did make the 12hr drive, but when reloading to go back home, a second strap started to tear as well!! Returned it AS SOON as we got back!! There are MUCH better carriers out there for less money!!!

It sits on the vehicle instead of on the rack. It is made of material that is supposed to be safe to place on the vehicle. It works well and is very easy to use. Held much more than the vehicles weight limit so be careful not to overload the vehicle.

I have side rails and cross bars, not a problem. But, I have a panoramic roof under my roof rack on my new 2015 Nissan Rogue SV. Is your cargo carrier safe to use/strap over my panoramic roof? We really need it for a family vacation but, as you can imagine, I don't want any damage to the new vehicle or cause a safety issue with the children in back.

It is recommended that you use a car rack to properly secure it. You may be able to use it with out a car rack but you will need to find a safe way of securing it to the vehicle so it will not move.
