Comments about Haynes Ford Windstar Minivan '95-'07 Repair Manual:

Even though this book is supposed to be for my 2001 Ford windstar, the photos in it look like a totally different vehicle, like something from 1985 or so. I never did find the faulty part in this book, so I cannot fix it myself. Now I have wasted [$] on this fireplace kindling and will have to pay a mechanic anyway.

Cruise control on my 98 Windstar 3.0L does not operate and its not the fuse as far as I can tell...What else should I check for? . Any suggestions?

Hi Jimmy, great question! The clock switch may even cause the cruise control not to work. If the fuse blows continuously. it may be the brake pressure switch that could be bad. This switch is in the engine and senses increases in brake pressure. This is also the switch that turns off the cruise control when you apply the brake. When they leak inside they apparently short out and cause the fuse to blow. However, the answer to this bit complicated than you think. This needs an expertise to determine. I would suggest taking your vehicle to a certified mechanic for a proper diagnosis before buying and having parts installed that may not solve or be the problem.

This manual should be able to assist you in diagnosing the brake light switch as well as locating it. However, because we are unable to go through the manual and considering it is a very simple task we would not be able to provide you with a 100% answer if it will have detailed instructions on replacing the switch.

It could be the wheel speed sensors.
