Both of the tint films I purchased were creases and not usable. Double check the film before you buy it.

Comments about Gila Window Tint - 20% VLT:

Bought this 20% $10 window tint and a Gila window tint installation for $16 kit back in 2005 and my friend installed it on my 2000 Toyota tundra. It looked great. Matched the rear windows very close. Have to get use to driving the vehicle with window tint on the front windows no matter what % you decide to go with. The window tint only lasted 4 months. Went to roll the driver's side window down to place and order for food and the film got caught inside the door. Ended up stripping the window tint and taking the truck to a professional tint shop. If you don't mind having a couple of bubbles and/or creases in the film then by all means give Gila window tint film a try. If your picky about the bubbles/creases and don't have the patience then I would recommend taking the vehicle to a professional window tint shop. Front 2 windows tinted usually costs around $70-$95.

Hi Lisa, I'm glad to assist you! This Gila Window Tint - Part No. NRS44 is universal and is not application specific. You would have to match one by size to what is on the vehicle that can be fabricated into its place. It measures 24"-inch width and 78"-inch length.

  • Q:

20% vlt, does that mean it blocks 20% of the light passing through the tint or that it allows 20% of the light through the tints, blocking 80% of the light. rhode island lad must allow 70% of light to pass through. is this tint legal in rhode island is my question?
Asked on 3/1/2010 by mike from rhode island

    1 answer

    • A:

20% vlt means that 20% of the visible light is transmitted through the window tint. Effectively meaning it blocks 80% of the light. Because Rhode Island law states that 70% of light must be able to pass through, you would be unable to tint the windows.
