Avoid this junk if possible. Film will crease and crack with the slightest twist. Very brittle. Has hazy scratches straight out of box. Barely enough to do 2 front windows on a 4-door Tacoma.Only had about 5-6inches to spare. Looked terrible. Ended up in trash. Waste of money.

This product says EZ Install.... Watched the videos several times. Got the tint on the window all cut out and could not get the film to separate from the liner. The video says to use scotch tape and it pulls right off. Trust me it does not. I tried for 30 mins several times and all of the corners with no luck. Thought I had a bad roll so I bought another and did the same process. Same issue would not pull from the film. JUNK in my opinion. Also bought their EZ install Kit with knife, spay and tint tool. The knife broke as soon as I got it out of the box. This product was about 3/4 the cost of having it done professionally so save your time money and frustration go have a pro install decent tint.

Comments about Gila Ultra Shield Window Tint - 35% VLT:

This tint is low quality (other than being easy to handle). I bought this tint to put on my door windows to attempt to save some money by doing it myself since I had my rear window tinted by a professional (35% dark smoke). It may be easy to put on BUT it is BLUE/PURPLE when put on a window compared to my real professional tint on my rear window. That's probably why it says it will never fade or turn colors on the box. Real window-tinters will not even install this if you bring it to them. I will be removing the tint off my window ASAP, throwing the rest in the trash and never buying this tint again. If you want the factory, REAL dark smoke look then go have your windows tinted professionally or buy the tint from them.

Comments about Gila Ultra Shield Window Tint - 35% VLT:

I've tinted my own windows for years and it all boils down to the following steps:
              1) Making sure the windows are clean inside and out, since outside is where you will make your first cuts.
              2) Make sure that it's not windy so no air born contaminates are introduced while you work
              3) Making sure the windows and clean (yes, the most important thing)
              4) Use plenty of solution (a Johnson baby shampoo and water solution works best)
              5) Make sure you get the lower edge under the seal completely so it doesn't peal when the windows lowered.

Comments about Gila Ultra Shield Window Tint - 35% VLT:

I've been tinting windows a long time. It boils down to how good the installer is. Tinting involves a lot of prep work. Believe it or not I prefer to take my windows out before tinting which creates a nice flater surface to work (obviously I don't remove the rear window). I can remove just about any window (even electric) in about 15 min. Having the window out allows you to be able to have zero edge seams showing anywhere. That and the tint applies so easy. I can honestly say Gila ULTRASHIELD lasts, & as long as you use glass cleaner that says "safe for window tint" it won't fade or turn purple.
You want to make sure you don't go too dark or you will eventually get nailed from the Highway patrol. They don't seem to care how dark tint is on standard cab pickup trucks. Remember for them, it's all about how many people could be in the vehicle that they CAN'T see when they pull you over. On 4 door cars if you stick with all windows at 35% you shouldn't ever have a problem. Maybe the rear window done at no darker than 20%. This should keep you free from a ticket.

As you stated the light transmission percentages range from 5%-50%. The percent of the the tint is on the packaging itself of the tint. If you contact your local Advance Auto Parts store, they will be able to tell you what percentages of tint they have in stock.
