Comments about Gila Heat Shield Window Tint - 35% VLT:

DIY window tint is what YOU make of it. The product is average. There is better of course. There is worse of course. But this product has the potential to be great. It's all about you and how you do it. Reviews can't be biased on how you messed the film up because you handled it wrong. This is a good product and it will do excately what it is designed for if applied correctly. But you always get what you pay for. If your trying to save money by doing it yourself then prepare for not the perfect auto look. You can achieve it, but again it is up to YOU. I recommend going on YouTube and watching videos on how to apply DIY window tint. With those tips on YouTube you will know everything you need to do.

I recommend doing it in a garage. The lighting will help and being in a wind free zone will help not get dirt or dust inbetween film and window.

Comments about Gila Heat Shield Window Tint - 35% VLT:

When trying to apply, the film was very difficult to pull apart and apply. When apart, difficult to handle and would adhere itself together, thus wrinkling the film rendering it useless.

I believe this has enough for the rear window and two sides as a general amount to base it on.

      A:

Tint is rated in percentages! The LOWER the percentage, the darker the tint! 5% tint (otherwise known as "Limo Tint") is the DARKEST tint you can buy and looks VERY good on the back window! The percentage coresponds to the amount of light that is allowed to enter the window (IE: 5% tint only allows 5% of light to enter through the window)!! If you live in a state with tinting laws, keep in mind that there is already a small percentage of tinting in your side windows! The side window on my car, for instance, is already at 91% and the laws in Missouri allow for 35% at the darkest! So if I were to use 35% tint then the tinting in my windows would be at 26% which is too dark! I had to go with 50% tint since 3M doesn't make tint between 35% and 50%! This put my side windows at 41% which was just right for me!
