Comments about Gila Heat Shield Rear Window Tint - 20% VLT:

Product came as a long pre cut strip, so you have to measure and cut according to your car but that's what make this easier to apply, small strips you can move and apply where you like....

Comments about Gila Heat Shield Rear Window Tint - 20% VLT:

Hardest tint ever to put on... Definitely have to have patience and stay calm and have NO distractions when handling this tint. The film is hard to manage because its rolled up in a small box and when trying to pre-cut it wont stay in place regardless of whether you squeegeed it in place, it will still roll up. When applying the film to the window, the second strip will not line up with the bottom part of the first strip because of the curvature in the film. The results are horrible either way, whether you get the ends (top strip connecting to the strip below it) to connect perfectly in the center the corners (near the left and right of the tint) will overlap causing long darker triangles of tint. And if you were to align the corners perfectly you will have a gap in the center of the window between the two strips. And I dont advise you to try and push the center of the strip up to connect with the other because the film WILL crease.

        A:

Hi Jeanette, glad to assist you! This is a pre cut strip window tint. All you have to do is to measure and cut according to your car window size and then you can apply it easier. But of key importance is utilizing plenty of Gila application solution to keep the film and window wet during installation. Do not attempt to install the film dry or with plain water. The wetter, the better. The application solution lubricates the film so you can “slide” it to the correct position. Then the solution helps to remove air, dust, and dirt when you squeegee down the film. Install when ambient temperature is between 45 and 90 degrees F and avoid direct sunlight. You have 24-48 hours to fix any imperfections. Simply peel back the film being careful not to tear or crease it, clean away the imperfection, and remount. After 24-48 hours the film is bonded to the window. Please check your state tint laws prior to purchasing. In some instances it may be beneficial to use lighter tint on the forward side windows and darker on the back side and rear windows.
