I'm a Fleet Tech and have been using Fluid Film for at least 5 years. On the 50 or so trucks /cars I maintain. I have to say I'm beyond impressed. All you need is a thin film. If it looks wet it all set! no need to waste it making it look "thicker" it will likely drip off. The road dust will adhere to it turning it black. High washout places like wheel wells will need to be reapplied more often if it concerns you. When using it to cover over fuel filter threaded nuts (GM) it easily washes off for service with brake cleaner. I see my trucks quarterly and touchup when its needed but for the most part once a year on the state inspection would do it.Some newer vehicles have coated lines but don't forget to spray the nut on the ends of the lines,"t" connections, flex line end /connections. Obviously be careful not to get any one the brakes/rotors.

Comments about Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection:

This product can be used on pretty much everything. It will not swell or ruin your rubber seals! It can be used on your battery terminals and anything electronic / electric as well. The best part is that it doesn't drip and it really does stop rust from spreading!

amazing stuff

Comments about Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection:

I have always been into fixing cars and motorcycles and one of the main "problems" while fixing them was getting rid of rust or trying to prevent it. My number one go to product was WD-40 but now that I found this product, I won't go back. It is really simple to apply and reapply. It is worth the money!!!!! Also one thing that I liked about it was that it is eco friendly and non conductive so working around sparks wouldn't be an issue. I am now a die hard fluid film customer and I will not even turn my head for another product.

Recommended buy!

Comments about Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection:

I bought this product as soon as it came out to give it a try and compare it with WD-40. What I noticed about this product was that it lasted a lot longer that WD-40. I applied it on my boat trailer that I put in saltwater twice a week or so and I noticed that it wasn't rusting where previous trailers would rust, and in the areas that had rust, it slowly started taking it away. The process of reapplying is very easy and at first, there's a weird smell but it goes away almost immediately. I no longer use WD-40 and instead use this product. I would heavily recommend this to any type of mechanic and even house hold user that wants to take care of any bit of rust.

Comments about Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection:

So I had heard about this product from a friend of mine that has been using this product for the past few years now and has had very good results with it. I was a bit skeptical about it at first but decided to go ahead and give it a try. I am an avid fisherman in the Florida keys and I have huge problems with my gear rusting up. I am glad to say this product did not disappoint my friend praise was an injustice to the quality and longevity of this game changing product. I use this product as a lubricant on all of my reels as well as the rollers on my rod and that keeps them smooth as can be and it does not wash off even when I hit it with the hose. I have also sprayed it on all the little screws ,nuts ,and bolts that were starting to become oxidized because of the extremely rough and corrosive environment I put my gear through. This stuff keeps me on the water and keeps the fish on the line for me and I have recommended it to several of my buddy's. Although it is a little but more expensive than something like wd-40 it is without a doubt the product I keep I my fighting belt against rust.

Odor at the beginning, but does fade

Comments about Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection:

I am trying it on an old car underneath to see if I can slow down the rust. I have used rustoleum in the past, but it does not seem to work. There is an odor for a while, but it fades after a few hours. Be careful also-the residue that drops on the garage floor is easy to slip on. Be sure to clean it up carefully.

Can this product be used to prevent rust in gas tanks?

        A:

Hi Mountain people, I'm glad to assist you. This Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection (Part No. 00207) does not work fine in gas tanks. It is just for tools and bare metal to prevent the rust.

    • Q:

The description of this product is very confusing -- lubrication is mentioned as well as undercoating, etc. So are the reviews, I still do not know what this product does exactly. I am looking for something to protectively coat the paint on my car, preventing rust, especially areas exposed to salt and abrasion, like rocker panels. This is for a vehicle that is used in the winter, not for one that is stored, as mentioned in product description. Something comparable to 3M Defender Spray Film. Will this product do that? If so, will the 3-4 mill application thickness mentioned in a previous answer be sufficient for this purpose?
Asked on 11/7/2015 by Rust Knight from Syracuse, NY

      1 answer

      • CUSTOMER CARE

        A:

Hi there Rust Knight! Happy to help ! This product is not recommended to go on paint or clear coat. Chemically its similar to wd40 and functions similar to it. Fluid Film Powerful Rust & Corrosion Protection is a moving parts protectant and lubricant. Something similar to 3M Defender Spray Film you mentioned would be 3M Scotchguard Pro. Your local store can possibly locate a kit for you.

        A:

Hi Tom, glad to assist you! If this product is applied at a film thickness of 3 - 4 mil, this will cover approximately 250 sq. ft. per gallon. The most efficient way to apply FLUID FILM in its bulk form is with the use of standard airless paint spraying equipment. Airless paint sprayers operate under high pressure, usually between 1500 - 3500 PSI, which atomize paint into tiny droplets, propelling them towards the desired equipment. We recommend a minimum of around 2000 PSI. We also recommend a spray tip of between 515 -517 for best atomization.
