do you need gasket cement with this

I'm glad to assist, Peanut! I did not find any requirement to utilize any cement, sealant or RTV on this Fel-Pro Water Pump Gasket (Part No. 35656). Federal-Mogul indicates the gasket is to be installed dry.

  • Q:

Is this for the coolant crossover housing that the water pump is mounted in? If so doesn' the Northstar need 2?

Once you remove the bolts that secure the water pump to the block you will have access to remove the water pump gasket. We will need more information including the year, make, model, and engine size of your application before we can make a suggestion. Please call us at 1-877-ADVANCE (238-2623) and we would be more than happy to further assist you.

Yes it is. The N* does need 2, as well as two of the other crossover gaskets (rectangular in shape) -> there are 4 gaskets total for the crossover.
