The gasket set looks like it will do the job. Having just installed it, I cannot speak on the long term durability. The biggest observation I have is that there were no directions and aside from that they were easy enough to install once you took the time to tear off the old rubber bushings from the screws and put on the new ones. That took a little bit of time as the old bushings were stuck to the valve covers.

The good news is those same bushings once placed into the valve cover do a great job holding the gasket in place while you align it to the engine. Once aligned, I was able to finger tight all of the screws down and then torque them with an inch torque wrench.

This was rather a big project as it was for a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Taking the wiper assembly out made all the difference. I also pulled the power steering fluid tank out of the way, leaving the hoses hooked up. I had to buy a 1/4" flexible socket adapter from Advance to make the job a bit easier, particularly on the back side where you cannot see all the screws.

From what I am seeing on the Internet, with doing the spark plugs, wires, and PVC valve as well, I figure I saved around $800-$1,000. Going slow with many breaks over several days, it took around 5-6 hours. I was in no hurry.

Went to change my oil, filter, and pan gasket on our new/used 2008 Chrysler Town & Country. This was the only oil pan gasket on the website so I ordered it. Turns out , the actual pan with the drain plug mounts to another flange part. That part bolts onto the engine bottom and it's between that flange and the engine this gasket is for. My 2008-2012 Haynes manual talked about removing a transmission case support bracket that isn't there to remove oil pan gaket on 3.3 and 3.8L engines (my van is 3.8L). In order to remove the part this gasket goes to there are 4 big bolts to remove a possible tranny mounting bracket to access all the 10mm head bolts for the oil pan flange. I assume they just want you to use RTV for the actual oil pan???? The Haynes manual shows the real / lower oil pan removal and discusses a gasket to replace. Frustrating.

four spots/joints to be aware of

Comments about Felpro Oil Pan Gasket Set:

Fit well and easy to install. There are four points where they tell you to apply a small amount of sealant to the engine seating surface. Two in the front, two in the back where the casting sections come together. On my 2008 Grand Caravan, I wound up having a slight uneven surface there. It seems like the gasket between the casting surfaces had swelled over time and this would have been a sealing problem. I used the square end of a file to lightly get rid of what seemed to be swollen or extruded gasket material at those four spots/joints and used the Permatex Black at those four locations (with the rest of the sealing surface clean). Seems like it worked well. It's been several months and it's tight.

Comments about Felpro Oil Pan Gasket Set:

This gasket was for my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan. The FelPro snap it gasket was great. The snap pins made replacement of this RTV-less process a "snap"! Only one of the four pins were a little difficult to remove. The flat head slot is really not sturdy enough to remove one that is put in too tight from the start. Finally got last one out and it was really easy to get the gasket in the right position with that ingenious little snap tool. I would absolutely recommend this product to my friends and will look for it for my other vehicles as well. Great product. Nice dry installation

Comments about Felpro Oil Pan Gasket Set:

Installed on a 2005 Grand Caravan,it went on easy without using the supplied mounting hardware. I tried using the pins, but unless you have a clear shot for mounting the oil pan they don't work very well. I had to push my pan up at an angle to get it in, and the pins were just in the way. The gasket is very well designed, and hopefully it will last like the original. I used a small amount of black sealant in the corners where there are mating surfaces, and torqued the bolt to 105 in-lbs. Its also nice that these are blue so that you can see it, and that it is installed correctly.

Easy to install and gives a good seal

Comments about Felpro Oil Pan Gasket Set:

On 2006 Dodge Caravan SXT, I was able to install this without removing anything except the oil pan. Just use a small bit of gasket sealer to hold it in place at the sides while you put the pan back up. It does not need gasket sealer around it, acc. to the instructions, so I did not use it. Do not use the plastic clips to hold it in place when you install the pan because as another reviewer pointed out they can break off and then it is very difficult and time consuming to remove them (because they screw into the block), so you have to drill them out.

Comments about Felpro Oil Pan Gasket Set:

This gasket fits perfectly and appears to be well made. Be careful with the plastic bolts that come with it to help hold the gasket and oil pan in place while installing the mounting bolts. I thought it was a great idea....but I installed this in the freezing cold garage. When I went to push on the oil pan I was off a little and the 4 plastic bolts broke off...because they were brittle due to the cold. They broke off in the thread holes and it took me 2 hours to remove them so I could install the metal bolts. I had to use a drill and a tap.......very frustrating.

Once I realized how to use the screw brackets to hold the gasket and oil pan in place while I inserted the screws around the pan, it was a breeze. The leak I was trying to fix has disappeared.
