Comments about Factory Air System Mounted Cycling Pressure Switch:

A/C would cool great at idle, but not while driving. Old switch was cutting off the compressor at too high a psi. Hooked up manifold gauges and the pressures were 40psi low, and 210psi high, which are good pressures. Jumped the low side connector and drove around the block. Had ice cold air the whole time. Drove down to Advance Auto and bought this switch, and the a/c has worked great ever since. On GM trucks, there is a schrader valve on the accumulator where the switch goes, so you can replace it without evacuating the refrigerant.

Comments about Factory Air System Mounted Cycling Pressure Switch:

Troubleshooting A/C issue on 2005 Isuzu Ascender LS 4.2L with help of store staff. With A/C turned high, Compressor clutch would not engage. Checked fuses and relay. On the cost scale, the cycle switch was next. Even though this didn't fix the issue, the install took minutes, part performed well and was a great deal. No negatives to report at this point. Fyi, the issue turned out to be that there was so little pressure in the system that another (safety) sensor prevented the compressor from running.

                  • Q:

Does this pressure cycling switch mount on the accumulator of a 2002 Chevy Tahoe? Also, if it is inoperative, will it cause system to lose refrigerant?

                      A:

Hi Kevin! To answer your question, yes, the 37308 switch does go on the accumulator. But, it will not cause you to lose refrigerant, this will only happen if the switch has a leak at the O-ring or in the switch body. The switch not operating will cause the evaporator to freeze up and cause warn air coming in the dash.
